427 hp 1200 4tec (on day one)

BJ your question is very stupid.....How did the ramp get to position #3 in the 1st place? When you figure that out you will have the answer to the other questions.

BJ, When your on clicker #5 and you click down to clicker #4,#3,#2, or #1 how does the ramp do that ? Certainly under your theory movement is not possible....So if you would please explain using your theory as to just how the 3 ramps go from #5 all the way down to #1 using your theory.

OT

I have "certified" JELLO hammers and nails...check my website...ship daily...BJ

BTW- my new nickname for you is Buchi-ice...figured its applicable since you know everything about boost...

With every purchase of the certified hammer & nail, BJ will include a set of 3 blind mice. These mice have been carefully trained by BJ himself and once installed into the TRA will push the ramps up to #6 or down to #1 by simply using the hammer to tap on the sheaves which signals the 3 mice to push on each ramp. If the hammer doesn't work no worries you simply than use the enclosed nails to poke the mice in the ars to get them going. :beer;

No need to give you a new nickname....Blow Job fits you perfect.

Guys, this is really simple. The new doo mill will be running roughly the same HP (lb for lb) as a Yamaha. Who knows, maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less - it isn't that important. For tuning, the Doo guys will benefit from the encyclopedia of knowledge that exists now (and that didn't when some us started several years ago) and anyone who thinks the boosted doo's won't be a handfull for any of us on a Yamaha is kidding themselves. Reliability? Sure, there might be some weak points in the chassis/driveline, but the aftermarket will address those pretty quick, or guys will figure it out for themselves.

As always, it's going to come down to the tuner. I'm looking forward to lining up against some of the new iron this winter.

I suppose the hammer and nail have your certification?

This is the same guy that argued on here about everything including the sky being blue years ago isn't it?

I remember a mere 295 post ago when this was about dyno testing on a new 4s engine that had been boosted. Even after all of the posturing and naysaying the dyno report was verified by dynotech at 427hp for that setup. Many things about that engine in other configurations and actually in the sled are still to be designed and tested in the real world but arguing about what the meaning of adjustable vs. movable isn't one of them. Big John thanks for the info, BRP thanks for the option, Yamaha riders thanks for the testing and tuning the last 6 years, Jim thanks for the test and OT thanks for nothing. The sledding world just got better no matter what your riding.

I do have supercharged RX1 mtn, I do have a turboed apex mtn.

Both them cost me a bunch of money. But that does not mean any sled can't outperform them both.

SO if that new 4tec engined sleds can easily outperform my yammis, why would I continue to hide my head into sand and try to believe its not for real?

No point in that!

Let just hope there is soimething good from doo and that can be easily modded to compete against boosted yammis and we can all enjoy!

Buchi-ice....

I figured since you knew everything about "boost" you would be "on" to my little roos...

I guess another FACT is applicable..

Alfred Buchi is the father of turbo technology...figured you were his grandson???-Big John:cool:

Thanks for solving the mystery BJ.....every month for the past 22 years i go to the mail box each month and theres a handsome check signed by a guy named Buchi. That also explaines why i have 234# of ball bearings collected in a box.......Because with each monthly check i get a handfull of ball bearings as well. :beer;

Now I'm not sure if this question has been raised before since I haven't read any of the posts since my last one but....

I was reading up on the 1200 and it has cast pistons.......aren't forged the way to go when it comes to high hp applications in 4-strokes?

Can someone comment that knows 4-strokes or am I off base?

BRP reports proto sleds with upwards of 17,000kms with nothing but scheduled maintenance. I'd like to see half of that when boosted if possible. Not sure a few dyno pulls makes it worthy.

LMAO BJ the ramp(s) are moving parts, if not the A in TRA would not be neccasary. Adjustability = Moving Part

Nice try with the Shockwave BJ....Does the A in shockwave stand for adjustability as well ?

BJ did you know that the Doo 4 tec motor you know so little about and the turbo impeller fan your dreaming abou tinstalling isn't a moving part either.....Many parts are fixed UNTIL you turn on the key/ignition and the motor is running.

OT

Wow, I just read this. Talk about splitting hairs and making a fool outta oneself. You'll redeem yourself sooner or later I'm sure. haha Funny stuff. Maybe I should read it all.

LOL...

The new kid on the block hits a home run and gets booed...

I get it..tough crowd...:face-icon-small-con

BUT for all you nay sayers...a little research (like 60 seconds worth) you would see...

Bone stock motor
22 lbs boost
stock timing
stock compression (no shims)
120 octane fuel (aka Glenn Halls fav...)
stock operating rpm of 8000-8400
between 10-1 and 11-1 fueling
over 20 dyno runs to establish base line and break 400 hp

And its obvious most dont know anything about turbos...this engine wont fail any sooner than yours...unless the same Turbo 4 stroke mistakes are made...shes a little gem and I cant wait!!!:D

As for the trail versions...theres one already on the dockets for some tuning at DTR...BJ
So, how are the turbo doo's standing up to boost ? LOL

ive road with lance bakers 1200 mcx and its very clean and very impressive. he only was running 10 psi and was almost keeping up to my nytro on 15psi. there is deffinatly a future for these sleds. I believe racers edge will build them for customers now, should be less cost than a nytro as well. would be sweet to see doo build the sled in sled in a 163!

Well as it turns out, the cast pistons are becoming a problem under boost. I here there are quite a few boys down east grenading pistons under boost. Has the aftermarket started building forged pistons yet?

That is nice and it will just take some time to get the bugs worked out.
