427 hp 1200 4tec (on day one)

well theres no doubt that my yamy is the best sled ive ever had! I think calling a doo a piece of chit is a pretty severe comment though. Doos are hands down proven great mountain sleds since the 96 summit.

Sounds like a good motor, just hope Doo beefed up the chassis, being that they're folding up with a stock 800 two stroke in them. Mountain riding with 300+ hp can put some strain on things.

LOL...

The new kid on the block hits a home run and gets booed...

I get it..tough crowd...:face-icon-small-con

BUT for all you nay sayers...a little research (like 60 seconds worth) you would see...

Bone stock motor
22 lbs boost
stock timing
stock compression (no shims)
120 octane fuel (aka Glenn Halls fav...)
stock operating rpm of 8000-8400
between 10-1 and 11-1 fueling
over 20 dyno runs to establish base line and break 400 hp

And its obvious most dont know anything about turbos...this engine wont fail any sooner than yours...unless the same Turbo 4 stroke mistakes are made...shes a little gem and I cant wait!!!:D

As for the trail versions...theres one already on the dockets for some tuning at DTR...BJ
So, what happened to your sled BJ ?

1200 Doo

Well guys the 1200 Doo was Dooing a few Yamaha's at 100 Mile House, BC Canada last weekend with only 10 psi boost in snow drags.
I have rode this sled a couple of times and it is very impressive.
Smooth and a real pleasure to drive.www.powderlites.com

You no that is pretty good and i bet it will be a sweet sled but even though i love sledding i am more intrested on parts that give big horespower and dont brake the bank. I an average guy and i cant be putting out 4 grand to add a turbo to a new sled then the money for race gas and the problems it may have. It just seems like everyone talks about turbos these days what happened to all the stuff average ppl can buy for their sleds no one talks about them anymore

i wish you can buy a turbo for 4 grad i think everybody would have one:eek:. They are more money then that!

I still don't understand why we're discussing this in the yamaha thread. Are the Doo guys trying to convince the turbo yamaha guys the Doo is a superior sled. If you've spent anytime on a turbo Nytro you know that you really don't need anything else. And yes I own both, a Nytro and a XP.

Was chatting with the old guy about that sled and His opinion is. Just the thought of some French dude from Quebec thrusting a broken drive shaft up your exit hole and spanking you with another broken belt, gives him nightmares.

Saw the 1200 in 100 Mile last weekend like D said. Very impressive at about 1/2 track it really came alive and blew the doors off of pretty much everything except for Dave's Nytro and Miller's RX-1. Too bad I didn't get a chance to at least pull the trigger once.
Next time I'm in Revy I'll bug you for a ride D.

to all you ski-doo lovers.
I could not be bothered to buy another piece of @#%$ ski-doo, after the 08 800 xp 163 I owned for all of 400 Km until I had to get rid of it, there were many problems that ski-doo knew about and just would not do a damn thing about, they would not stand behind their product at all, I even phoned BRP direct and got no were at all. I see that for 09 they have corrected the belt alignment problem, but now just a minute I thought there was no problem to begin with?????????? Well any ways I will never own another BRP product again. I now own a turbo-ed apex and could not be happier, it is the best sled I have ever owned. As far as that 4 stroke ski-doo goes and those hp numbers, give me a @$#@#$ break, what a bunch of BS, you know my sled put out 800 HP on the dyno too HA HA. To the guys on here that said watch out apex, go get your piece of #$@# ski-doo and lets go ride, you better put your money where your moth is !!!!!!!!
Sorry but if you are going to bash YAMAHA than be prepared to get it back!!!
THANK YOU

seen the pl 1200 make a few pulls in eagles pass a couple,3 weeks back.i must say it pulled hard for 10lbs,impressive.the only thing was it didn't make it off the mtn cause the clutches blew apart:(
