2025 Ski-Doo Rumors and Predictions

Id love to see them do something more like vehicle manufacturers. Offer say a 4 year OR 4000km warranty whichever you hit first. Most people will still get a 3-4 year warranty from this but the people who ride a ton every year will only get maybe a 2 year warranty. Keeps warranty claims down on the high KM sleds but doesn't punish the other people who weren't able to put many kms on in a season and gives those people a chance to actually ride the thing and still be protected with warranty like the people who do 2000+ a year just over a longer period of time

My bet is that cat is the only one that is going to have a stellar snowcheck. If they made it a 3 year warranty people would bitch and say why not 4. I think the best thing they could do is give a 1 year, for a cheaper price, and people could add 2, 3, or 4 for a price if they desire. Kind-of like cat in 20 when i got my alpha for $12 when my wife's expert was $15. Only had a 1 year on the cat and 3, i believe, on the doo.
The '20.5 Doo turbo only had a 1 year warranty.
Alot of people complained that Doo didn't have confidence in their own turbo sled.
The prices on new sleds are out of control!
If I was buying new, 2 yrs should be standard, IMO. If you want more than that, buy it at extra expense on your own.
One of our local FB sled groups did a poll, I was kinda surprised to see people would pay $500 more if the sled had warranty. Pretty much any warranty left.

Yep, i had a 20.5. Went against everything i always said. I always thought you were dumb to buy a mid year release. Season is half or 2/3 over and they are always updated in fall. They came with 2 year warrany in the fall and were cheaper.

longer warranties=more expensive product.

That I do not believe, warranty is a piece of paper.
A sled does not get cheaper when the snochecker backs out, and the warranty defaults to 1 year over the two when it was ordered.
It wasn’t that long ago there was decent warranty on doo products and they had a good snow check program

the longer a warranty exists the longer the company is on the hook for repair. as time goes on things are more likely to fail with use and the risk to the company increases which put another way means the cost to the company increases and they're not gonna just absorb that expense. they can mitigate this by using better quality parts but that also increases the sled cost so they walk a fine line.
otherwise we'd all have factory 10 year warranties on our machines.
there's a reason the warranties are so short and it's because each warranty represents a potential amount of loss to the company.

And short warranty thats a very fine line. Low sales hurts a bottom line as well, especially after a lacklustre winter, my dealer still has sled on the floor, I have not seen that ever since those owners took over 10 years ago. The lack of warranty lately and dealer inventory IMO start to discourage new MY sales when the product price is creeping into the 30k range, because its really hurts the resale on a sled with no warranty after its expired. I am seeing 2024 turbo sleds still in breakin with asking prices of just over 20k Can. So why buy next MY new?

Hopefully doo has something really special to release in a few weeks to encourage sales.

Chadley says warranty is for poor people.
Yes, he does say that, but he is a friend of mine and I’m curious. I need to ask him what he would do if his 2024 boost blew up tomorrow…. Would he just tell the dealer that he’s going to pay for the new motor himself, and not use the warranty. This might be one of lifes greatest mysteries.😂😂🤔 This and why sled covers are for poor people🤷🏻‍♂️ I run a cover on the way to ride, but rarely do I put it on during the trip home🤷🏻‍♂🤔

Warranty = Insurance

It's a gamble on the insurer how likely and expensive repairs will cost, and if it will be profitable.

For Doo, its a sales incentive, IMO.

@caper11, agree with what you say and the cost of increasing warranty length enters into their calculus along with lots of other variables. i'm sure they have tables that tell them what they can expect to pay in warranty issues per model over time.
i think subpar winters will be the norm so how the sled companies adapt and especially in terms of pricing will be interesting.

Shops for cars, to sit in, must also be for poor people.

It’s because people keep buying them.

Doo did a good thing by offering the 3 year warranty on the door turbo, but that went away with the G5.
I personally think with this winter being the way it is, and snow check around the corner with inventory still at the dealer, something will have to be done to spark sales. These sleds are too expensive not have warranty like they once had. Tells me the manufacturer doesn’t have faith in their product.
Agreed
I suspect we will see some interesting PROMOS

With a winter like this just might be a new crossover a summit Mach z with 1 1/4 paddles with ice studs and with a push of a button boom telescoping paddles out to 3 in for the 2 days of pow riding but wait we're not done yet snow check and get the brp custom beverage holder and chrome trucker chick snow/mud flap sold separately. Let's not forget new display that has step by step instructions on how to do a bow tie. Also sold separately.

Interesting to see the Ambassadors teasing early access. Makes me think it's just BNG
If they can show qr codes to people to view on the 20th and the public on the 22nd, won't people just post it online? So what's the point?

Edit: Actually, I do get it. More hype. With the ambassadors making these videos and getting people talking. So yeah, good marketing.
