2023 RMK

Would be nice if they could build a 180 HP N/A sled. It is not out of reach.
Agree on that. SLP claims their twin pipes are worth 17 HP, and it seems the 850 dynos around 165. SLP's claims may be a bit optimistic, and it sounds like they haven't got their tune quite right, but there's definite potential there. You'd think Polaris could easily make 180 on a twin-pipe 850; could be emissions are holding them back though. I have a feeling most of the effort for the next couple years is going into the respective turbos though.

I saw a rumor of a new 4 stroke trail motor this year, but other than that I really didn't expect much of anything from Polaris this year.

This FB post, however, makes it look like that new "9R" motor is in fact a 2-stroke

I am going to feel burned when my matryx loses a chunk of value due to meaningful updates 1 year in. 2-3 years in, I get it but this feels a little immediate - especially with how late sleds were this year. Some poor guys wont have finished break-in before their sled is out of date

I won't feel burned at all. Keep improvements coming please!!! - I just hope we have snow. Not even 100 miles this year and nothing promising in the forecast. I doubt I will snow check, but come out with something really good to temp me. Please.

I am snow checking this year for sure as sold my Axys last month. So far the plan is Matryx Pro Slash 850 in a 155 with 3 inch track & 7S. I just dont trust the 2.75 track for duribility & cant get a 2.6 in the Slash.

Getting a little off-topic, but I'm an amateur brewer myself. Been into it for over ten years, and have a couple favorite recipes; wish I had more time and the facilities to experiment. My sister and brother-in-law are into it too. At some point, maybe we'll put together our own private little brewery. When the home-brew craze first hit, lots of people jumped in and made lots of beer of highly varied quality; now that it's died down a little and craft brewers have cropped up all over, most people still into it make pretty good stuff, assuming you have the same tastes. Count me in if you need to reduce your stock!
II tried making a midas I think it was dogfish head brewing recipe. It was weird. Like beer/wine. I normally make a killed Eisbock And Applejack this time of year while it is cold out and can fish the ice off as it freezes. I'll go anywhere between 14-30% ABV on the Eisbock. The Applejack is dangerous and will give you the worst hangover if you drink too much. Both are some pretty good Swill/parts cleaner. Made a Lemon wheat beer using lemon grass last year that was Phenomenal. I made a Lavender Cream ale that was a hit. Made a simple cream ale and then hung some lavender in the fermenter to it took on a lavender odor. Fine line to making it smell and taste like grandmas soap and a beer worthy of drinking. I nailed it, the girls loved it for the hint of lavender smell from an easy drinking ale. The Russian Imperial is my favorite and blend in some wheat DME to help balance the flavor within a year instead of 3-4 years.

900 NA (as I've said before) would be great. Lighter, more HP, and the 840 patriot is 4 years old after this year.

Innovation rules! Thanks Polaris for releasing something new this year.

My two favorite brews are a blonde ale and a ginger brown ale. The blonde is pretty much a recipe I got from a place in WA; it's a very balanced beer, a little hoppy without being too much. The ginger brown ale is one I kind of came up with on my own. I started off with a Newcastle clone, tweaked that a bit, and added a couple ounces of fresh, grated ginger to the wort. Anyway, might have to start a thread in the OT subforum before they boot us off!

There's a teaser video in another thread that appears to be a dyno run under a title of "just another BNG year." Hard to see much of the motor, but definitely looks like it has an expansion pipe, so not the 4-stroke people have been suggesting. A bigger, badder NA motor would be cool (though Poo could easily read the wrong thing into "badder"). That said, I'm fine with my 800's HP. I'd personally prefer something bulletproof and more refined than bleeding edge. The 850 isn't a bad motor thought; hopefully they can wring more out of the architecture without any drawbacks.

180hp and has a chaincase drive on their turbo Summit R and a 9. something gallon gas tank. Makes me wonder why they didn't just go with a 2 1/2 gallon to claim lightest mountain sled. Who cares if your always siphoning off your freinds.

And when you’re done with that you can borrow some gas for the ride out.

Anyone know what the HP rating is of the Carl’s 900 seeing as how it may find its way to Polaris factory release? I was looking for an hour last night and could not find anything.

Would the amount of additional power be proportional to the increase in volume of the cylinders. I assume it is an increase in bore not stroke, does that raise the rpm in the power curve.

Based on recent teaser videos I’d say the 900 NA is coming in 2023, probably come out in a boosted version a year or two later?

Yep, prolong a chassis's life with a new motor half way through. Same as Axys and G4; very smart! One has to wonder if the 840 Turbo was truly just a response to skidoo; get the turbo onto a tested motor versus the RD one.

I think the plan with building the Boost was to sell some ....and it worked! Deep thinking not always required

You should watch the the video Polaris put on building the boost it was a pretty long process. It started way before Doo released there's.
