2023 RMK

Yep, prolong a chassis's life with a new motor half way through. Same as Axys and G4; very smart! One has to wonder if the 840 Turbo was truly just a response to skidoo; get the turbo onto a tested motor versus the RD one.
Prolong the G4 chassus? The turbo showed up in 2020.5... 3.5 years into the chassis now the chassis changed for the 2023 sledding season. 5 years is pretty consistent since Skidoo dropped the Rev chassis in 2003.

I think they just lightened up engine components. Like zbroz light weight fly wheel and so on. 850 is to new and the my 22 850 pulls hard all day long

5-6 years is standard....yes, continue the hype for 5 years, no. New engines create that hype.

In addition, seems strange Polaris would drop a 900NA a year after a 840 Turbo. Maybe the original plan was a 900Turbo, but it had issues in R&D, so they tried it on the 840??? Maybe they felt the heat from Skidoo and put it on the 840 for 2022?? Who knows!

And Edgey; I had watched those videos. Do you honestly think they would tell you if the 900Turbo failed during R&D; it is a hype video.

In the end, be awesome to have a 650, 840, 840T, and 900NA motor options for the RMK and Khaos is 2023; a motor for everyone! I will be SCing a 840T Khaos 165" slash to replace my 800T TC Axys; cross my figures that is in the line up for 2023 (along with a better fuel delivery system).

It's not a video but 4 part article and when did I say anything about a t900? You said how long have they tested a turbo on the 850 and it tells u in the article.

I heard from a Polaris rep that Pol holds 23 patents on their SxS tech that Can Am pays them royalties for. You'd think they'd do some trading to get SHOT technology. I'm not sure the science behind it.
Shot start is a pretty big edge for doo. Cant see Doo letting that one go for quite sometime. Patent runs out in 2028 I believe.

I may be wrong, but until Polaris goes to a direct injection "shot" is a dream until they can get enough revolutions to start... Unless the new motor IS direct injection with a similar shot type system ?
DI would be awesome. The Doo just runs, idles, and starts so well.

Every Polaris I've owned or been around has had some little quirk where you either need to crack the throttle to start it, or it won't idle on its own, or random bog, etc.

The 850 does seem to run a lot better this year though based on internet commentary, but I haven't been around many Matryx sleds yet.

All my zuke 800s from 2009-2014 needed a throttle squeeze to start when warm, or u could pull a dozen times without a start.....

2019+ cat and Polaris 800s in my group have been outstanding all day every day.
The sole Matryx Slash is outstanding in every aspect. For 60% of the season, in my area, the non slash cooler would be preferred.

Maybe the teaser video is a direct injected 850.
Shot type start
If it's a 900 I hope its solid but not overly heavy like their last attempt with the dragon 900. They should have put armor, canon and targeting system and let the army ride that B#$ch into battle. Reliability was about one would expect for "military grade".

If it’s a 900 it will most likely be an exact copy of Carls 900 the R and D has already been done for them and I believe Carls uses all Polaris parts.
There shouldn’t need to be any weight gain in the motor maybe a few grams for bigger pistons is all.

850 is 4 years old… look how aggressive Poo is with side by sides, a 900 would not surprise me.

I would love to see a 850 with Di & a Shot type start system. I am thinking that is a dream though. Anyone else nervous about a possible large price increase on 23's?

Not really worried about the price increase. It's going to be an expensive year for me getting back into it and having to buy all new stuff. Figuring about $60k all together for sled, accessories, tools, Enclosed trailer, klim apparel for me and the wife etc. What's a couple more grand. The govt will print more money. I'm more worried about interest rates by the time my sled and trailer get here and it's time to finance. That's the thing that will slap you in the face unexpectedly.
