2023 cat. Where is it?

And doo

Soon to be joined by many unavailable necessities in your life.

Iam curious how you guys who are getting your new sleds now feel? Part of me thinks there should be financial compensation for the delay. Now I know people are saying your lucky to get one or your gonna pay way more next year. Even I think I should buy this year even if I wasn't going to use it till next year. Now my dealer called and said he's getting 16 mountain cats (I must have heard that wrong?) In March do I still want one? Will there be reasonable low mile sleds available in March April due to snowcheckers needing cash out of old sleds? Iam honestly asking. As much as I want a alpha I think I've decided to go another brand just because my local artic cat dealer just doesn't care about me or snowmobiles really. They are almost nice but not really. I was in the polaris shop looking for parts and I hate to say it, they where awesome and they have some afoardable stuff. I think artic cat has made some pretty avoidable mistakes that will cost them some new riders for sure. Three years ago I decided I wanted to snowmobile. I was going to buy three new snowmobiles and a trailer all at once. I was going to buy the ones I thought looked the coolest lol. Seriously I was. I had no idea about them. I thought you went to dealer. Looked at them and said ," I like the red one." I went to dealers and found out they didn't care if I wanted one or not lol. So from a non snowmobile guy who thinks 15-20k is alot of money. I gotta say the snowmobile world isn't that great at attracting a guy. Now I bought a brand new blast (10k) and every single person who worked there is different now and they could careless I bought it and the guys working there "don't snowmobile " and act like iam a pain wanting to figure out the clutch and can I upgrade shocks yada yada. I know its only 10k but **** I bought a condo before for a little more lol. Yeah times change but they shouldn't change that much should they? So for a new guy who really just wants an easier process and some form of service and never mind reliability and parts costs snowmobiles are the worst I've ever done. I've had Harleys, sport bikes and boats but never snowmobiles. I dunno. At least artic cat has cool colors I guess. I would have bought one allready and been happy now I think they are over priced. BNG....right? Ranty rant....

product is only as good as your dealer will support them. that goes for sleds, side by sides, trucks, cars etc etc etc. X brand might have the best machine or best looking but if the nearest dealer is 10hrs away or they are a garbage dealer your better off going with something that is local and good to work with.

It's difficult to find good dealers that actually know something and care. I get tired of going into powersports dealers and knowing more about the product than they do. Makes it tough to go in and order parts from them too when I have to look up all the part numbers of what I want ahead of time. At that point I might as well order myself online. It has to make it really hard for people new to the sport. Local Cat dealer was that way and had different people rotating through as Pinchecharlie described with most not being sled people. The Cat line disappeared a couple years ago. I rode KTM bikes that they also sold. When the Ski-doo dealer I was friends with picked up Husqvarna I took my bike business to them and they've been great. I'm 33 and ridden Cat since I could crawl up on a Kitty Kat, but they almost have me riding a Doo.

Nothing more annoying than trying to spend money and being treated like they are doing you a favor. My local dealer has been great so far but if they weren’t it would be a huge factor since there aren’t any others close.

I would really appreciate if they gave me something for my wait. Wouldn’t have to be big, credit for cat gear or parts, extra season of warranty. Something since I missed a good chunk of this season.

My closest dealer sells all 3 brands. They’re about 45 minutes away from me.
My last 3 sleds I have purchased have been no closer than 3 hours away, farthest being about 9. Of the 3, I would happily make the 9 hour trip again if they all three had the same sled and similar #’s.
All the comments made in the last 4 posts I’ve experienced at the closest dealer. I just can’t get myself to give them that kind of money. I’ll get oil and gloves and the misc part if needed, but that’s about the extent of it.

So what are the odds that 2023's are just the un delivered/made 2022's? Now we should be talking hold over prices right lol! I do feel bad for trying guys. It's like Christmas just didn't come and that's sucky!

If there are big price hikes on 2023s with few changes the "holdover" price on late delivery 2022s is probably going to stay close to MSRP. If any major updates come for next year then maybe there's hope for some reasonable deals on 2022s. The 2023s will at least have different graphics and colors.

Anything really new will be limited number production like Polaris's Boost IMO. So maybe a new platform or engine in the Mountain Cat model and the rest stay the same more or less.

I have a Cat dealer min 3 hours away one way-and not very much in the know- Getting a few of my car dealer friends together with me, and thinking of picking up the Poo and Cat dealership -
Poo dealer here is more into selling cars now that they have picked up that line ( auction vehicles) since sled sales /inventory were down.

I didn’t realize how privileged I was until after reading this conversation.

I live in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada and there‘s each a dealer for Arctic Cat, Polaris, Yamaha and Ski-Doo all a 15 minute drive from our house.

We’re a tiny place with just over 40,000 in population and we‘re set up like that. Sorry to those who have to suffer.

So your saying Cat is gonna run out of grey plastic? haha. I wouldn't put it past Cat to relabel 22 as 23s.

I got my 2022 before Christmas, 146 HC runs great, I'd fore sure pic up a sled in March.. it's a new sled, ain't no way of telling if/what we will get next year. In most businesses they are expecting 2022 to be worse than 2021 for freight and electronics

So...do they have the luxury if not competing because of the sale and the relationship with yamaha or text-only or whatever OR are they (new owners) just gonna get rid of them and don't care?
