Agree with Owen. Rode Sunday out of Albany, decent decent Dec/No base snow. Rode Monday out of Greenrock, slightly deeper with plenty of untouched ares to be found but LOT'S of traffic in the main areas.

I wouldn't consider it to be epic by any stretch until they get another storm.

Snow pack varies heavily- 5+ in one spot& -3' two miles away at the same elevation.

The north side seems to be the best from riding and looking at snotels

There is plenty of good snow to be had with safe coverage.. but the word is out, since Christmas there have been a TON of rigs coming through saratoga, I couldn't believe how many were in town last night.

The trails were nothing but crap by Monday night. There wasn't a 100 yard section that wasn't whooped out within 5 miles of Centennial I don't think, and the trails weren't marked worth a crap. For my first ride out, it left a real sour taste.

Don't let it "sour your taste". Wyoming's not known for great trails, want good trails ride Minnesota, New York, Maine........ Get off that trail and have some fun!!!

It's not Michigan

The trails were great earlier this week on the Saratoga side, at least the ones we had to take to get to/from the cabin. Call ahead or bring your own fuel though.

Why do you suggest bringing fuel if staying on the Saratoga side? Does ten mile not have gas this year?

Road out of albany today. Wa good trails. We were inly in them fir a few miles going out. Alot of hard pack in the medows. But found good deep powder in the trees. Got stuck plenty of times. Had a great time. We hired a guid out of albany. Was worth the money. He was great. His name was Austin. Glad we did. Only the second time riding up here!! It was worth the 9 hr drive. Yes im a ditch banger from south dakota. Going to head up to centenial tomarrow and see how that is. Oh ya road back pry 20-25 miles on trails this evening to albany and there was a few bumps but nothing bad at all.

$295 plus his gas for the full day or $195 for a half day is what they charge. Went up by centenial yesterday. The trails were pretty beat up. Snow was hard pack and pretty scarese in places. Alot of rocks showing. We didnt get to far off trail with the people i had with me so not sure how it is way back in. We found some untracked medows but really hard pack. And wind blown.

We are headed up to albany and looking to make our way over toward medicine bow. It sounds like it pretty touch and go up there. Not afraid to go searching for some nice meadows tucked in the trees but don't want to waste a trip either. Anyone have any input?

Thanks Travydog, that seems reasonable. Especially if he can get you into some spots that get you stuck.:face-icon-small-ton

We rode today. I don't think I've ever seen the snowies this tracked out. But at least the base is setting up.

We rode three days and yes it's tracked up but there is good snow if you look for it. The further north the better.

Yup were pretty much the only place in the state with good snow... and the word got out haha!

Hopefully the system materializes midweek.. looks promising

We rode yesterday also. As everyone else said - snow is pretty beat down and thin in some places. Hopefully a good storm this week. It also seemed very crowded - word got out

LOTS of people heading west from the flats that typically don't I assume. No snow anywhere here til a week ago, and still very very slow start in the flats for snow.

going with a group of 5 guys leaving Thursday morning driving 11.5 hours. ill keep my eyes open

on here but... worth the trip??
