I can tell you the snow on Casper mountain is way better than Togwotee is right now, we got slammed with 24" +/- last night. Northern Snowies look good too, so I hope to ride there on Saturday. My riding buddy will be at Togwotee tomorrow so I'll update if I hear about the conditions.

Casper Mountains are just South of Casper WY

Here is the article from The Associated Press

AAA

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A winter storm that swept across Wyoming dropped 2 feet or more of snow in some spots.

The National Weather Service says the Casper Mountains, the Lander foothills and the eastern side of the Wind River Mountains got the most snow.

A preliminary snow report issued Thursday shows that Hobbs Park in Fremont County got 2 feet of snow. The Casper Mountain Snotel recorded 2.6 feet of snow.

In the Medicine Bow National Forest, 16 inches fell at La Prele Creek.

The storm system has also brought colder weather. Temperatures are expected to drop into the single digits and below zero Thursday

So what is the bottom line for Tog conditions boys? My group and I are planning to head out tomorrow. We wanted to move our date out, but the lodge would not let us move it at the same rate we booked at back in September. B.S.!!! So we had no choice but to keep our original date unless we wanted to pony up more green backs. We are all very frusterated! That said, if there is no MAJOR snow expeced this week we are thinking of pulling the plug. This is at the expence of a $250.00 each deposit. I just can't see spending the money to drive all the way from MN to ride in crummy snow???

Did you talk to someone at the lodge, or the 1-800 number?

We spoke with both. Skylar at the lodge. Then when we called the 800# we talked to a rep explaining our sitution. He then would have to put us on hold to talk to the lodge about rates. They are making it way more diffiucult then it has to be. Starting to get ashes in the mouth very quickly!

Merry Xmas everyone.

Heypal: Sorry to here about your dilema. Ussually snow is not an issue. However this year it is. Save your group the expense of costly repairs and reschedule for a later date.

The lodge always paints a rosy picture. They want everyone to come out. If the snow conditions don't improve soon they too will begin to reallize that they will need to adjust their rates to attract riders.

Sunny today, some snow in the forcast mid-week. Hard to predict how much yet.

I will keep you all posted.

Stayed the night at Togwotee lodge two nights ago....

I went up to Togwotee lodge for the night this last Thursday,
Dec 22nd-23rd and rode all day Thursday and Friday. In areas there was maybe 9 inches of powder, but for the most part, average was around 6 inches. I got off trail and hit a few areas that looked good, but didnt go too extreme as I did ride over a few rocks and logs and I am not that advanced of a rider to be getting too excited out there by myself. I am sure that if you watched what you were doing, you could go up there and have some fun, as there are some pretty safe areas but none the less, the potential for breaking something is still very possible. Me and the wife are going to head up there and celebrate New Years eve. Be up there from Dec 30th until the First. Anyone else gonna be there? I have a two place enclosed with double axle, Slednecks on the back of it and Arctic Cat decals on the sides and a 2010 black Expedition pulling it. Say hi if your gonna be up there. Otherwise, hope it snows more before then. Plenty of trail riding for those who like that kinda riding. My wife stays on the trails with her crossfire, so this trip is for her, unless of course we get more snow by then. :face-icon-small-coo

Thanks for the update. I think we will be taking your advice. At this point, it sounds like they need a huge storm to make up for the lack of snow. It has been an unusual winter, nobody can do anything about that. However, the lodge could put forth a better effort to help us out a bit. Especially since we have been repeat customers since 2005. Thanks for the update and Merry Christmas!
