2011/12 Snowy Range snow conditions

early day in the snowies

rode out of centennial yesterday not real bad but not real good had fun in the trees till a stump ended the day early around 2-4 feet to play in in the tree just watch for rocks and stumps plenty to be had

Thanks for the update, I am looking for all the details that I can get. I am going for sure, I just hope its ok-good riding.

North end of the range out of Arlington was pretty good today up around Sand Lake, the 13 inches on Snotel is pretty accurate from the Wednesday storm. Some better spots in the trees but you still have to be careful with land mines. Rode the Sierras yesterday and the conditions are pretty poor, bare pavement on Battle Pass and the snow was real thin on the west side of the pass.

Rode wed thurs last and tore arms off my M in the meadows outside of the widowmaker I say wait, even though there was about 12 inches around the queally area didnt get to see anything else as I needed a lowere arm, And where is the warming hut??trails down to the rendevous and the place had rocks and trees in the trail,,be careful!!!!

Would someone just make it snow. I know last year was an unusual year but I loved it! This year.... um... not so much. I got the itch!

Anyone have snow conditions update riding out of 10 mile?

Thanks

Rode North out of Centennial > NEED SNOW. Snowdance TMK50 posted was fun to watch, but not working. I got same look that Belly dancer got from elderly lady from Cross Country Skiers. Found some powder up off X trail.
Would someone please tell me how to change user name!

My wife went up the range yesterday, she said there was 10" or so at Ryan park and maybe 3 ft at the upper gate. - this is my wife's snow report

Last week there was enough snow to ride from tenmile (road only) to the higher elevations. There were tire tracks going up brush creek so unless the groomer has been working watch out for ruts.

What are the Trail conditions in the Snowys...might take the family for a excursion there if the Trails would be decent. Want to ride a couple short days seeing the scenery...any advice?

Rode out of Albany yesterday. We were checking out a route for a poker run the club is putting on in March. Trails "Q" and "C" were in very good shape. Only a couple very small patches towards the west end of "Q" where the gravel is showing through. From the Rendezvous Lodge in Ryan Park, "Q" to "U" and "U" all the way to "T" is in good shape. The north end of "T" trail all the way across Libby Flats is very poor. Alot of rocks and very little snow remaining on the trail. Go very slow through this area. Once the trail gets back into the trees it is alright again. "T" trail was rough all the way down to "Q". However, the groomer was out. Chances are they have gotten that area taken care of.

update from Wednesday

if your coming for trail riding your going to be OK mostly
if your coming for off trail riding your going to be disappointed but can find some deeper spots that is sugar snow there is really no base to speak of

The range needs snow bad
