If you guys want to ride from my side of Kebler(north side) or the Grand Mesa, there's always the Electric Mountain Lodge which is at the edge of the Grand Mesa. The guy who owns Colorado Sledstyle (http://www.coloradosledstyle.com just bought the lodge, so he's working on making it a big-time sled destination. They have two huge 8-10 person cabins, and three big lodge rooms that hold from 4 to 10+. This is where the freestyle sled guys from the X-Games go for the week before the X-Games to practice and its always free to go watch. They have the same big ramps and everything up there. The lodge has a restaurant, full bar, gas, oil, etc.. SnoWest and SnoGoer will be there this season as well to write an article about the lodge, and I'm sure he'd give us a deal. Anyway, I just thought I'd throw that out there.... Oh yeah, at least check out the video on their home page...its cool..

I am in for the ride as well. I will get with Ryan, Jeff, Chris and Paul to see what's up. I had a great time last year and YES THE SNOW WAS EPIC! The Snow Show is around the corner, so I will see a lot of you then.

That's Tod Welch who owns a heavy-eqpt outfit in Carbondale, too - cool! I looked at buying a snowcat from him, nice fellow. He's a die-hard snowmobiler had helped a bunch of X-Games free-stylerz.

That'll become a new meca for snowmobiling, kind of like the Compound did up in Steamboat.

I'm not sure there's an easy/navigatable route from Electric Mountain Lodge to Iriwn, but maybe there is. It'd be about a 65-70mile back-country route. The do plow the last few miles of Kebler Pass during the winter, but we groom the rest of the pass once per week.

MD.

Yep, that's him... You can't ride to Kebler from the Electric Mountain Lodge, but I thought I'd throw that out there in case the plans were not set yet. They plow 8 Miles up Kebler from the North side, so that leaves about 10 miles of riding over to the Irwin area. The trail-head for the Elec. Mtn Lodge is about 25 trailer-miles from the Kebler Pass trail-head, just an FYI..

Electric Mtn is awesome, but you cant ride from their lodge to Kebler.

IMPOSSIBLE, unless u sled into the lodge, stay, sled back to the trailhead. Load your sleds, just above Paonia then drive back down to Paonia, get on the hwy, head east 15mi then up another 10mi up Kebler pass trailhead.

Drive time from Electric lodge to Lost lake on Kebler would take 2-4 hours so that is pointless, unless you plan on splitting the two areas up.

The WRFA are considering a separate ride out of Carbondale, called the 'LAST CHANCE RIDE" that would include the affected areas and boondocking from Carbondale to Electric. That would be way cool, but we were thinking about last weekend in Janurary, 2 weeks before the 4M ride.

Any ideas..........????? For a 2nd ride???

fundraiser

I vote that the proceeds/donations from this years 4m ride go directly to efforts fighting the hidden gems initiative. My vote is for WRFA..

2 rides is cool...

Good idea, Ray.

I'm also up for WRFA. You guys would pitch in to help your bretheren in the NW so I am game.

Three Rivers Resort

I just reserved Cabin #29 for the forum ride. I have six people to fill it. The cabins look very nice at this resort. I am excited about riding in new territory. This is going to be a gooder!

I wish I could commit to the ride but ...

I don't know yet.

I am flying to Florida for thanksgiving this year, so that SHOULD mean she can fly out in February for the 4M ride.

But we won't know for awhile :(
