Actually I have an interview in Denver next Thursday. I'm not gonna stop looking until I find something that helps my family, not just a band-aid over the wound.

Plus I have a little side venture that I am planning and I got news today that things might work out in my favor.:D

I'll be posting info as soon as I get some more details worked out.

Maybe a little guide service up at the Ears? Can I still tag along for free if I help the flatlanders get unstuck? lol :beer;

Now why would you go do that?

That's work, unsticking flatlanders.

You'd just be stuck unstickign them all day .... :p

Maybe. I have been asked about it many times. Not just at the Ears though, I know lots of other places too. Variety is the ticket.

Is Irwin set in stone?

This maybe too late, but has anyone considered having 4M ride at the Flattops or Carbondale, Basalt area.

These areas might be closed next season, so a "last chance" ride might be appropriate.

PP - you make a great point!

I think some folks have already made reservations down here, but maybe we could add a weekend ride up that way? If enough people want to change the venue, it's totally up to the group. Maybe another poll?

I'd be up for coming up for sure, some others probably would as well.

Regardless of where this ends up being held, I need some ideas on how we can help the anti-Hidden Gems folks. Money of course, but is there anything we can do with a group of 50-75 people to make an impact?

MD.

I wouldn't change it now. I believe that it was agreed upon and some non-refundable deposits have already been made.

I wouldn't be against doing a ride down your way though. I hope that we don't lose a bunch of area but I also hope to win the PowerBall.

People, including me have already made deposits on lodging and I know of one that's already bought plane tickets to come in from Iowa.

As for the help in the fight against the "hidden Gems" azzhats, I say we throw up some of the money raised from the raffle or the shirts.

Speaking of which Other than PJ I still haven't heard from any of the people that got last years raffle donations. Anyone that did that last year please at least get me your contact info so I can get this thing rolling.

That is because PJ rocks and wants to make things easy flowing.

Speaking of the Hidden Gems thing, the azzclown that will seal the deal is ruining tonights TV viewing entertainment.

2010 Snowest 4M Ride TEE SHIRTS

Well, I'm willing to do tee-shirts if folks want.
However, if I do this, I'm going to do it a little differently than its been done in the past years.

Disclaimer: I'm not getting ensnared in the mail-order/internet tee-shirt business.
I'm just trying to help out here.

Here's what I'd propose:

(1) Artwork - I'll need some help acquiring artwork/sponsors logos, etc.. but once that's together I can get some printed here locally.

(2) Sales - I will sell them to folks ONLY at the event. Period.
Cash (no check/cc), name, address will be needed (charity requirement) at time or purchase, and a receipt will be provided for tax-deduction purposes. Pricing TBD, but something that is reasonable, covers printing cost and provides a 10-15$ per shirt donation to White River Forest Alliance .

(3) Finances - 100% of all monies above the costs to print will go to Farmer's initiative against the Hidden Gems Wilderness campaign. This organization is called the White River Forest Alliance (assuming they can properly accept the donation; Farmer, I PM'd ya). No $$$ goes anywhere else. All books will be above board and available to this forum, buyers of the shirts and White River Forest Alliance. The placement of revenue from the sale will be made and confirmed within 30 days of the event.

(4) Quantity & Sizes - I need to know a rough quantity of shirts, and what sizes are needed. Please keep in mind that you need to show up at the 4M ride in order to purchase them.

That said, I'm glad to find a local outfit that can print up some nice tees!

Any ideas would be much appreciated!
( I have no knowledge if there any legal-financial implications for this)

I just want to keep it simple.

i know its presidents day wknd but what is the real dates i dont have a calender yet thanks need to let some boys know when to take off work

Event schedule info

Presidents Day 2010 is Monday, February 15th.

So..a sketch schedule:

Friday Feb 12th - Arrivals, Reception at Almont Resort Bar

Saturday Feb 13th - Irwin Trailhead Ride & SnoTrackers BBQ Lunch at "The Y". Event Dinner at venue TBD.

Sunday Feb 14th - Church(pray to snow gods!), Irwin or Washington Gulch ride/tour. Dinner at restaurants in Crested Butte - Maxwells, Wooden Nickle, Last Steep, etc..

Monday Feb 15th - Taylor Park/Cottonwood Pass/TinCup Ride, lunch at Trading post departures.

I'm up for suggestions, but that would give us two days of taking people around Kebler/Irwin/Anthrecites/Lost Lake/etc.. and a day to check out Taylor Park and Tincup areas.

I think that XC has the t-shirt deal set up with his bro. I'm not sure but he mentioned it.

I'll just ride all day Sunday. No church for this fellow.

Cool - I'll PM him.
I'm a little leery of the tee-shirt thing, but will help if nobody else does it.

If he's got it nailed, I'll work on something else - like food/events, etc...

I just picked up the domain: www.4mRide2010.com and will post ride info and specifics on there in the next few days. PM me with any info you would like posted.

;-)
