2010-2011 Whistler/Pemberton Conditions

Brohm was deep...again. Real deep. It is November conditions where you have to watch out for...... snow, mounds of snow and snow that makes its way into every facial cavity. Tommorow will be day 5. Day 3 in a row. I hate my life!!!!

Rode Brohm on Saturday and the lower meadows were uncut and deeeeeeep! Can't believe nobody went down there. It was awesome!! Unloaded at Cat Lake Parking lot...snow was thin for the first few K but got deep up top.

Rode Brandywine today...still need more snow there. Lots of landmines in Metaldome but not bad at the base of the gauntlet. Maybe a couple feet of fresh. Went up over the Gauntlet and around the toilet bowl and back as far as the drop just before the hill to Grizzly Lake. Looked like there were too many rocks so turned around. Trail was groomed to the cabin and then a single line to the bowl with some ditches.

Be carefull out there a friend bent his bulkhead today I threw a rock through my heat exchanger yesterday and the day before that another buddy smoked a rock and bent his a-arms.

I rode in the lower meadows two days ago so sick

Here a few bad quality pics from the weekend from my blackberry.

On the flats in the meadows at Brohm on Saturday...sun came out late in the day. Deeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

How is it up there today?

Good! Not a lot of people up there. Snow has pretty decent traction for it being as heavy as it is.
BTW-
Lost my red Voile T6 Shovel in the Brandywine parking lot today. If anyone comes across it please IM me or text me @ 604-907-2233.
Thanks

I thought it was quite cold up there? why is the snow so heavy?? or did it warm up

The snow was heavy right from yesterday. Freezing levels were @ 1400 yesterday and today. It is groomed right in to the the meadow now which is sweet! No more culverts!

Still looking for my shovel!

Don't understand this comment. So lighter snow has better traction? I was up there today and I thought the conditions were amazing. -4 snow at the meadow - deep and great vis. Should be awesome on the weekend when we get up higher

Did anybody ride Rutherford or Triconi today. Please tell how it is!! Brandwine was not bad today especially if you got there early. Left it pretty tracked out . Will post some pics in a bit

Accumulations 10-15cm.

Saturday
Snow

Sproatt Parking: Just FYI there is a new plowed parking lot for access to Sproatt this year which is located at the old Callaghan Lake logging road directly off highway 99. There is no parking allowed at the rental area and dog sledding area at the Olympic site. You will get towed if you park there.

On another note....Sproatt could use a lot more snow!! Lots of creeks still open with rocks still showing. My buddy hit a rock on the weekend that was just slightly under the snow on his new etec and I had to tow him off the mountain. If you see a lump under the snow.....avoid it! Lots of snow in the forecast though!!
