Here is first annual TR from Brohm /Brandywine:
Made it up to the 7 km mark up to Brohm, the road has about 8 inches of packed icy snow and is pretty bare in some spots. I turned around but for anyone who has really good tires or chains you can probally get to a good spot to unload without trashing your skis.Word has it from a local that there is a good amount of snow in the alpine. There was a few guys supposedly hucking there sleds yesterday. Thank them for packing the snow on the rocks with there sleds for me if you see them. So as I headed home I figures i would drive into Brandywine really quick and check things out and all I have to say is GAME ON! I unloaded at the 2nd parking lot and rode up to the meadow. It is a little rocky going up but it really isnt that bad if you take your time as there is about 6-8 inches of packed on the trail. As soon as you turn the last corner to head up to the cabin there is about 2 feet of fresh on about 8 inches of packed. Be wary of the drainage ditches as they are well....drainage ditches. Got up to the meadow were there was about 4 feet of snow. About 2 1/2 feet of fresh on a well saturated rain crust that seems to be bonding very well. There is still open creeks , the meadow creek is open and lots of unfilled gullies everywhere so anyone heading up BE CAREFULL!!!!! I managed to dump my sled in a few of them but the snow is fairly heavy and settled well so it's less digging and more waiting. There was another 5 guys up there playing in the alley as well. I can easily say we are one good storm from open season. We need wind and low temp to fill the streams and gullies. Other than that is was a good day, got my dig on and cant wait to go back up soon.
