2010/11 Snow conditions Snowy Range

Hey Riley we saw you cruise past us on the trail Sunday morning, by the time I realized who it was you guys were gone. I wish I would've flagged you down, bs a bit.

P.S. Nice stick. Had a couple of those myself, just didn't take pics, didn't want the evidence floatin around.

Snow was good. I saw the ultra guys. He Feel off climbing a hill. Saw another guy with a leg injury hope that he is ok. Had some awesome grub at the Wolf hotel in saratoga. Had horrible experience at The Saratoga inn. When I asked the front desk lady for a room with queen beds so honestly told me that I would take what she was gonna give me or stay somewhere else. I wanted to soak in the spring so a took it. looking back I wish I had just left. Will probable never stay there again but I will call and speak to a manager to see what the deal was and if he/she can do anything to make it right. Also had a burger and few barley pops at THE PLACE. Great service and one heck of a burger. You should try it out. Over and out

Ed, PM me and let me know who the lady was at the desk, my friend is knows the people from the Saratoga Inn and I've not heard of something like that before. We can get it straightened out. Sounds like somebody was just being a total hag.

You should have! Always up for a little BS'ing. I don't mind taking pictures of sticks, have lots of them. Most of the time it's where somebody else wouldn't have went so it's one of a kind, it's all good!

There's no snow on the west side anyways David, you know that.

What's this now?

I'm guessing he meant 'Dorf on Snowmachining'. Like 'Dorf on Golf'.

Riley, based on your picture you'll need to Google "Dorf" and "Tim Conway". If you were my age (old) you would understand. :face-icon-small-con

Actually kind of clever response if you understand the context.

yes you are correct sorry i misspelled it.
this is what i think of when i see that picture

I don't recall his name but in some of the older Thunderstruck videos there is a man missing legs from knee down. Hell of a rider too!

injured person

Ed, if the man you saw injured is the same one my bro and his group helped out, he had a broken leg and had to get hauled off by the pros.

Anybody rode the snowies lately know how the conditions are after the past couple storms?

If you scroll up past all the midget picture posts - a few of us posted conditions from Sunday.

Conditions are good for this time of year - snow and snowpack is above average.

Snowies

How deep is the Base at the Snowies? Is it safe to ride there yet? I am getting the itch to come out there this weekend. I saw the pics but want to know if you can ride without hitting landmines everywhere

The trails and roads are obviously safe - you will probably hit landmines if you are not careful or do not know where the "safe" meadows are.

I know of at least three sleds with A-arm and other damage from last weekend. I'm sure the majority of riders made it off the mountain fine, but sleds are hitting landmines and doing some damage. It is not stopping me though, I am planning on heading up again this weekend :)
