Bear lodge is reporting 7'' last night and snotel says 1''?? That is 6'' difference WTF??

Follow bears report. Snowtel site is very windy and read wrong sometimes. Pops just got up there this morning. Good snow I hear!

The snotels are very acurate. The information from bearlodge has never been very reliable, I have driven 10 hours two times when bearlodge reported good snow. The snow was normaly half what they reported. I now have a good friend that lives in dayton that rides every weekend. He has reported that off trail is still very dangerous. NEED MORE SNOW

Just got back snow was great over the bumper all day they received lots of snow in the past few days. We did however see 2 avy's so watch the wind loaded slopes.

Wyoming Snow Conditions

I have lived in WY for 60 years and the snow conditions this year are much better quantity wise in the Big Horns than we have had for 5 or more years at this time of the snowmobile season. The wind will rearrange it but overall snowfall is greater with less melting from warm temps than in the past few years. Without the warmer temps there is very little base so you will be finding land mines. You can't have it both ways, either you have warm temps creating a base with hard snow or cold temps and no base. Enjoy it as this is a more "typical normal Wyoming winter wonderland"......

We were down by ranger creek and snow shoe. The snow was amazing!!

Friday it was Sunny, 25 degrees and snow was very good.

Hill slid in the head of Bull Creek not a very big hill but it broke loose in the trees. Another one west of Trail creek slid again not a very big hill but the slab was about 3 feet thick. Fortunately no one was hurt the one by Trail creek was triggered by a member of our group. Just need to be careful the snow is great.

Ive lived up at bear lodge for years. Moved last year. I've been up there multiple this year. Snow is great!!! Alot better than years past. Snow is based up alot last few weeks. riding over hood deep! You have to know where to go. They are gettin hammered as we speak. a foot a bear lodge. I'd bet close to 2 feet up north of the lodge. The snotel isn't always right. The wind and whatnot messes with it. Snow is great! If your not sure where to go you can always go hang at the bar in the morning and find some locals to ride with. They are always willing to take to you!!!

I90 is closed from Buffalo to Sundance since this afternoon. Be careful guys! I did 25-30 mph all the way home and they closed the old highway right after I got through.

Us too Steph We got stranded in Buffalo Saturday nite and had to stay the night and I-90 was awful this morning too!! 45 MPH.!!

Man o man! Saturday on the south end was crazy deep! I had to keep the throttle to the handlebars the whole day and sometimes that wasnt enough. I bet there was two feet of new in some places!!! Went up today and the snow wasnt quite as deep because it had set up a little bit which made for a more enjoyable day but plenty of snow. Very fun weekend, not many people just seen some people at the warming hut on saturday, i think they were all from gillette, no locals, most likely due to the weather. Could hardly see for most the day saturday. Today was a very nice day!

Update from friends at bear lodge that have been there sense Friday. At bear two feet has fallen sense Friday. Snow is absolutely amazing. Everyone is getting stuck. chest deep in alot of areAs. Very light traffic.

Thats the same way it was on the South Side Saturday..Snowed hard til about 1 and the snow was waist to chest deep everywhere...An epic weekend!

Thats for sure, it was a good weekend. I was riding with a couple older guys and he said that was the best snow he has seen up there in 10 years, and its still only january! So hopefully the snow sets up a little bit and gets a base started. Its setting up to be a good year!
