2009/10 Big Horns North/South snow conditions

According to Bear Lodges report on their website it sounds like the best snow is west. Can anyone confirm that High Country is open or if they have gas? Sounds like Snowshoe and Ranger Creek down south are both closed.

10-4^^^^. Had lunch there Friday and Saturday, excellent chili. The best snow we found was back in the woods right in the Porcupine area. What's the word on the south side? Deer Haven, Meadowlark any good?

Was up at Bear Lodge on Saturday and we found really good snow, went to the South Side Sunday, Deer Haven and Meadowlark aren't open, just the ski resort is open...The snow is horrible on the South Side..Bear Lodge has a lot more snow. Its not worth your time to come to the South Side!!!

Snow

The horns are better in spring it seems every year so you might luck out. But hopefully it is white!!

As long as you stay off the main trails and out of the wide open flats there is plenty of snow. But i do prefer to ride the trees so maybe thats why we always find the good snow.

Traditionally how are the Big Horns in mid March?
I know that's a long way out and things can change a lot but what's the normal riding season for the horns?
We are going out March 14th to 19th

I'm starting to think we should not reserve any rooms and chase the new snow whether we go to the Snowies, Big Horns or Towgotee

Does Bear lodge fill up during the week in mid march. I wonder if they would have room at a drop of the hat

March most of the time is some of the best riding. Lately April has been great also. Bear Lodge is booked for most of Feb, and March. I doubt you would be able to get some rooms walking in. Might get lucky to get rooms at one of the other lodges though.

I think to 'horns are starting to look up though. Chance of snow every day up there. I'm thinking in a few weeks they should be good to go for good.

A group of 4 of us are heading out tonight from ND. Hope to be at bear lodge around sun up, and will be riding through Sat. We cant wait to be there, I hope we can find some nice snow!

Updates?

Any updates on snow conditions??? Got a group heading out tomorrow night to the Passage or whatever they are calling it now and we are curious.

Rode around Bear Lodge for the last 4 days and found great snow west/southwest, just have to get a ways off the trail and explore.

There is lot's of good riding to be had in the horns. There is a real lack of base still, it's sugar snow this season so you can still hit lot's of stuff.

Sweet video as always, rydpwdr. Think we are headed up Sunday afternoon out of Lovell and then a trip to Cooke on Monday or Tuesday. :face-icon-small-hap
