2009/10 Big Horns North/South snow conditions

Any reports? I see the snotel is gone up some. I wish bear lodge updated their site a little more often they might get more business. I wouldnt mind coming out but 12hrs is a long drive with no report or pics.

Bear basically only updates when the snows good or has gotten better.

Looking for an opinion on going to the horns, we are thinking of leaving tomorrow morning and driving from Minnesota. Have the itch to sled and am hearing that it is marginal at best?????? How does NOAA have 1 foot plus on the 24 hour forecast and snotel isn't moving. Baldy has moved around 5 to 6 inches as of 3pm......................Looking for help?

Hear snows awesome now guys went up today and was coming over the hood all day long everywhere they went. They couldn't read the gauges all day it was coming over hood that good. Suppose to get more until sunday. Now the sagebrush is covered and won't have to use it for traction now snow is there for traction.

i was up sat. and sunday great snow today it was over the hood every where we went it was to the bumper on the trail. hard to see though might want to wait untill tues. or wed. it was still snowing when i left

Ya I was up on the south side Saturday....:D:DIt was over the hood all day.:D:D It snowed all day pretty hard, and was snowing when we left. We had an awesome day, but you still have to be carful, because the all the rocks aren't covered yet!!!

Very poor visibility most of Saturday near Powder River Pass but we did get some new snow. This pic was from Saturday. We were back on Sunday with better visibility and found snow over the hood in many places where the wind has not blown it away if you got off the roads/trail. You still need to watch for land mines which now are covered with about 12 inches of fluff. Most of the new new snow was up high at 9000+ ft with just moderate snow lower on the mountain......:D

Visiblity was not good

but the pow was very good, still not much of a base but riding was great.

Todd.. I am sure that is one of your top secret spots, so not everyone will find pow like that... :D

Edit: thats nice how the kitty had to follow in your tracks... bwahahahahahahaha

Found some untouched chest deep powder by granite pass on sunday, problem is at the end of the day me and another guy found some large rocks. His trailing arm and shock was bent up bad and i tweeked both left A-arms and the bars gave me some extra "love" on my way over the hood on my Cat. It can be great, but still a little iffy with the rocks.

Snowing pretty good in Ranchester this evening. Going to make for another awesome weekend riding in the fresh.

I suppose my bungee is with you at work. (when you gonna buy a nytro so you can break trail) :)
