You're not going to believe what I lost at gold creek today??

It looks like the peeps worried that someone would find it and use it to shoot them can relax now...I don't pack but after bumping into some on the hill who DO drink the bongwater, I'm glad of the people around me that do carry.

EBB has all the luck. Well, sometimes anyway. Good job dude!!

i have a friend who almost did the same thing we were riding over at priest lake and we were doing a night ride it was in his pack and he went over the bars and the pack opened up and flopped it out in the snow we found the gun but not the extra clip now its on him when he rides thats a hard one because you lose it and every bad thing that can happen you think of i know i would.i would almost bet that your 44 is in better shape than you think S@W builds quality firearms keep us posted

Well I got it back today and it's in unreal shape. Very little rust and the trigger pulls with ease. This is one hell of a gun to melt through 10+ feet of snow and rain for 5 months.

I am going to send it in to S&W to get torn down and cleaned up. I will update with total cost for my stupidity. Heres the pics I promised.

EBB ... was the cylinder release missing when you got it back or did you remove it? Regardless, that pistol weathered pretty damn well. Gotta love Scandium/Titanium. ;)

I lost the relese before I lost the gun. I cleaned it up last night and any rust came right off. It looks perfact. Wanna see a cleaned up pic?

I figured it would come out alright is that the natural color of the metal or is there a finish on that? And do you know if they make it in a 460 4inch with a muzzle break?Im thinking about picking one up it seems it would be alot lighter than the stainless 629 44mag?

wow...

wow. that's amazing that:

1.) Somebody found it.
2.) They turned it in and you got it back.
3.) It's in as good of shape as it is.

Sweet return. Nice to hear stories like that....that's a one in a million!

Thanks man, I still havent sent it in to S&W but I will when I have a few extra bucks. I took it out and shot it and it was flawless.

Some have asked about the color, it has not changed and their is just a few rust spots on the steel parts. Other peeps have asked about the weight of packing a .44 mag. At 2.6lbs I think it's very light, maybe a Bogey wheel or a small water bottle.

Thanks again for all of the nice comments for those of you who wrote me. All of you haters out there that have given me a bunch of $hit, have a nice day, I hope you have a great time in the mountains and ride safe. Peace - Eric

That is an amazing story, Definitley 1 in a million! You are a very lucky man.

I recently aquired a S&W 342 (.38+p airlite-ti). It is an awesome piece, 11 oz. unloaded and small enough to fit in my front pocket. I put the Crimson Trace grips on it too! Great to see S&W making such resilient products!
