You're not going to believe what I lost at gold creek today??

it is illegal to have fire arms up there, so you have to watch what you say to the cops. hope you find it. and can I need to know what you look like so I'm nothing but nice to you if I talk to you on the mountain

Actually, Washington State is an open carry state. You could ride right by a cop with an openly carried pistol, it is legal. Just make sure you have a CPL because on a snowmobile is considered in a vehicle and in Wa that requires a CPL.

As for discharging a firearm, this is from the Us Forest Service webpage...

The only regulations specific to use of weapons imposed by the Forest Service is that you cannot discharge a weapon within 150 yards of any structure/development or occupied area, within or into a cave, across or on a road or body of water, or in any manner that endangers a person. You also cannot use any tracer or incendiary ammunition. Forest Service regulations require that you also comply with all State laws regarding the use of firearms while hunting.

.44 MAGNUM...The Most Powerful Hand Gun In The World...So You Gotta Ask Yourself One Thing....Do You Feel Lucky?......Well Do Ya..Punk??! I didn't know there were " thugs on sleds" nowadays!:eek:

It's gone, I'm an idiot, Somebody found it. I went back today and there were new tracks after we left yesterday. I was up there by 9:15 and it was gone.

I do have a CPL and pack for personal reasons. All I can do know is hope the person who has it is honest like me and would turn it in to the cops. I will give a fat reward to whoever gets it back to me. Thanks - Eric

So what distracted you so much that you lost focus on your weapon?

Was she that cute?

I deserve that. It was a skier and 2 boarders ripping superbowl. I walked away from my sled for about 15 min and it was on my rail. When I went back to load up my pack all of my stuff was on my seat, just not my gun. I'm an idot.

That sucks. Hopefully someone turns it in. A buddy from work has his pistol stolen and he was contacted by the cops to come pick it up. With a little luck you'll get it back. I know if I found a gun I'd turn in. Last thing I would want is to be caught with a gun that was used in a crime.
I was just messin with you earlier, bad deal for shure. Don't beat yourself up too much, nobodies perfect.

the same thing happend to my brother his .45 went missing. So he reported it missing to the law, and 2 years later he got a call. At 2 am none the less that it had been recovered. So report it at least missing and with any luck it will find it rightfull owner

Skinnies and boarders!!

We could have forgiven you if it was anything else. :)

Just pulling your chain in a nice way.

Do your self a favor and report it lost :( you don't want to have the police knocking on your door down the road if its ever used for a crime. I understand how it can happen but lesson learned here is always have a secure firearm it only takes a second for something bad to happen.

I know you feel like an idiot as you said in a prevoius post, But what where you thinking? Carrying a gun in your backpack is like riding with your beacon turned off! It does you no good if you ever came in to a situation where you needded to use it. If you are gonna carry always have the gun on YOU!!! Just like your avy gear it does you no good if you do not have it or have access to it. Hopefully someone with class picked it up and will return it.

I know some one who got a ticket for it at kachess. I think he got a bit lippy but I was not there. there is a sign at the t at kachess that says no fire arms also. but I was just stating what I thought was true.

Hey Eric,

Sorry to hear you could not find your gun.

We unloaded into the snopark around 9:30 but the gang wanted to go toward the Lake Lillian way...
We didn't get around the radio tower until the afternoon, never did get to Superbowl.

Hopefully you receive a call from the police that they have your pistol, I would like to think the sledders I saw up there today were an honest group.

I hear you but I wear a bwear vest and I'm not sure how that would work. Lesson learned I guess.

lmao..., I don't know if it's legal or not, but I agree, we need to know what kind of rig you drive so we don't block you in at the parking lot!

need to report it missing... so if it shows up at a robbery you don't have SWAT showing up at your door

Duh!

Watch out for those bears they might jump out and getch ya!
After my broken leaf spring on my trailer then my broken shock tower.
We rode a whole bunch in the bowls in and around the tower all i saw was a wind sheild and some other trash someone couldn't pick up.

I wonder what he received the ticket for. As long as you are legal to own a firearm having a gun in your possession is legal. There are only a few places that are gun free zones as described by RCW 9.41.300. Local jurisdictions may enact laws and ordinances restricting the discharge of firearms, however any ban on possession would fall under RCW 9.41.290 state preemption. Private property owners can declare their property gun free zones and then you would be trespassing if you had a firearm on their property.

Of course there are lots of things you could do with a firearm or stuff you could say to a cop talking to you about your firearm that could get you in trouble.
You did say he got lippy.:beer;
