Sounds like an addictive subtance is at work!!:face-icon-small-win
So, a week ago I hire a new tech. Check him in on Friday & get him ready to go for Monday. Now, he knew I was taking my family on a week long camping vacation the next week. So, Tuesday night I get a phone call stating the the guy went to lunch, calls and says his kid broke his arm & he has to go and will call later with an update. No call and wouldn't return messages. Wednesday am and I get a call that he's a no show and I fly back to the shop to go to work as we are swamped. He's shows up at 3:15, packs his stuff and can't give an explanation other than a little snide remark about "wrecking our vacation" Turns out he left his previous employer that friday the same way and the kid deal was a lie. What a loser! Takes all kinds I guess.

Switch I just hope he does not try to collect off you:mad:...Seen it happen before, work one day and claim he got hurt:mad::mad:

No one wants to work anymore, More lazy azzes around then ever:(

.

This is why I work 6 or 7 days a week and won't even consider hiring anyone!

Reason #2 for stuff be moved to China, Americans have lost their work ethic.

It wasn't lost.
It was programmed out of them.
The sence of entitlement brought on by liberalism.
The "Why should I work when I can get welfare?"

Orgs like the ACLU that have created an excuse for EVERYTHING. There is nothing you can think of that they haven't already made an excuse for.

We as a society have got to choose. Either we cut off the loosers or we lose our country. That is the choice.

Don't give up on all kids just yet. We have 8 or 9 kids working for us
(all under 21) that bust *** all day with no complaints. My three kids all have had full time jobs since they were 14 or 15. Parents have to teach kids to work. Mine all have pride in what they do, no matter what the job is.

that exactly right im 20 have been working sense i was 14 i work 8-9 hours then go work on sled stuff turbos for customers and other things while donating my time to the local motocross club every weekend. my parents taught me that if you want things you need to work for them

I bet an illegal or first generation american would have showed up and worked hard. I've been in construction for a dozen years, this is what I've learned. We have tried hiring white crews. Forget about it! The ones we've used are useless. Kind of like reverse discrimination. Sad, but true.

I agree, having pride in what you do is key. Also having a higher standard for one's self is key. I have worked for the same company since I was 16 years old, and I am now 23. We have seen many employees come and go. In fact, there are just 2 of us remaining that have actually stayed the whole time. We get employees that backtalk to us, and don't want to be told what to do. We also get employees that won't even give you notice that they quit, they wait until they get a phone call wondering where they are and then they mention that the quit.

Hey Hatchers, consider yourself flipped off again:eek:

This wasn't a kid. He was in his early 40's:confused: I am leaning toward the substances also. The guy I interviewed and who showed up and spent 2 hrs of orientation with wasn't the guy who came and picked up his tools. Like Jekyll and Hyde. We're guessing he was prepared to actually have to work. His last job consisted of 7 yrs of leaning on his box drinking coffee.

BTW X-rated, this gem hailed from Stacy:D

chit that's Stacy is just as bad!

Can't wait to stop in Cambridge tomorrow and get gas...always makes me feel ok about my life and life choices!
