who's turbo is best?????

Just to be technically correct I think the consensus on what "turbo" is the best is a Garrett, as far as what "kit" is the best, now thats debatable!

Well even that is debatable. It all depends on what is best for you the operator. Every kit, every turbo has its positives and negatives. You can debate which kit and which turbo is the best until your blue in the face. Its like what came first the chicken or the egg.

I feel his customer sucks.

I'm thinking that he (siber) thinks his customer DOES suck! lol you may want to proof read your posts.
Just food for thought! eh!

I lost a motor (rzr) to an attitude controller, dobeck did fix the box no questions asked but didnt throw any pistons my way....i'm just leery of any kit with that fuel controller.

Honestly I would figure out what kits you like, and call the manufacturer and speak with them about their kits. See which kit fits YOUR needs best. They should take the time to speak with you, if they dont... Well you know who not to go with.

As you can see, people are going to have opinions... And opinions vary...

X^2 and if at all possiable get out with some guys that have the ones your thinking about purchasing. In my area there are several turbo builders. Twisted turbo's, Steve Packer and Brad Story kits, Impulse and BD always does customer rides down this way. Anyway, there is or has been a difference in each kit so it's worth the time to get out if you can.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get out with someone that has a Silber. I'd love to see his Pro kit. It sounds like it rips.
You can hear good things about the kit/kits but it's just not the same thing as seeing or hearing them run in person..

Voicing your opinion on who's kit is the best is a real efficient way to waste your time. I have the Silber kit and have had a few small problems with it and would bet all other kit makers have had there problems also. What I can comment on is Justin's kit works awesome and makes huge power compared with others. When I did have troubles, he was always a call or text away. I will also say that Dobeck has provided excellent service for me also. I do understand that when you do have a problem, it is never a convienient time or place. I have since sold my 2011 sled to my brother from a differnt mother and have ordered another kit from Justin for my 2012 snowcheck. I think all the kit builders did an unbelievable job for the amount of time they had to work with this sled, and with 4 year warranties becoming the norm, snowcheck deliveries will get later and later in the year thus making it harder for aftermarket companies. Whatever kit you choose will make a huge difference to an already awesome sled, so enjoy it. I know there will be some excellent changes coming for next year from a couple of the kit builders. Just a piece of advice for turbo Pro owners, fix the squish. Take the advise or leave it.

Is anyone experiencing massive amounts of ski lift with these kits? I remember seeing a youtube vid of silbers set-up and they were pretty much doing wheelies all the time. Fun yes, practical, no. I don't really know squat about turbos. The only one I know of on a Polaris has never really run right the entire time he had it. It was actually painful to watch him break down almost every ride for 2 years. The other two are on a Cat and a Yamaha and they run flawlessly. I wish I had enough money to just be able to have a turbo set-up and a stock set-up. Hey, a guy can dream can't he?

Heres what really sucks; i put a BD kit on my 09 D-8 w/everything ,ebc, mini cooler the gizmo on the wastegate to go from high to low and after 350 miles and one season I got it on the shelf right now., I talked w/BD alot a didderent person each time, not bashing them as the problem was me i just couldn't get the changing numbers thing straight in my mind, any way had they not been so damb far away I know I would have driven to them and after a hands on I would have been happy, it finally ran great on 8 lbs but i want the front end lift of 10#s and I couldn't make it run there. What sucks is I see that I have at least 2 turbo owners that are within 60 miles of me ,Chester, Sioux Falls, How about starting a help line for local areas? It will help us dumbies plus maybe get some extra riding trips in.

maybe just scrap the BD control crap and go to dobeck box from silber? pretty straight forward for tuning. BD box seems to convoluted to me

Let me know, if you need help. I can hook you up with one of the most knowledgable turbo guys on the planet. Plus he lives within 60 miles of you..

Trying to keep the front skis down on a big climb is very tough. We took our two brand new 2011 sleds and put on straight rails and the fatboy rear spring. Made a big difference but you have to make sure your front track spring is stiff enough or it will trench on a climb in powder. The 2012 model has straight rails from the factory. For an all around good climbing and technical sled, you could put in a Timbersled skid. For an outright climber put in the Eazy Ride.

SILBER IS THE WAY TO GO

THE SILBER KIT HAS THE BEST LOW END TOP END AND ALL AROUND THROTTLE RESPONSE ON THE MARKET ALSO THE BEST LOOKING I JUST SWITCHED FROM BD TO SILBER AND WILL NEVER LOOK BACK I HAD A LOT OF PEOPLE RIDE THE SILBER PRO THIS WEEKEND THAT HAD BD KITS AND THY WERE VERY IMPRESSED.

Full of SH*T

I am happy you had a good experience with HM Turbos. My experience was precisely the opposite. Took him over 3 months to reply to my email. Rarely, if ever, answered the phone. Left messages...no call back, until days or weeks later. Still cannot, in good conscience, recommend HM to anyone!!

Timbre, I have been watching you bash HM for two years now and have never said a word, until now. You're a flat out liar and I can prove it. I happen to know why you are mad and it has nothing to do with traditional customer service. Its because he wouldn't share with you some of his R&D until he knew you were a customer. You bought from someone else and then wanted Shane to fix your stuff or tell you how to do it. He went way above and beyond to do that, just not as far as you wanted to go. Your credibility is shot man so stop wasting everyone's time with your whining.

Turbo Days

If you are going to be anywhere near Lolo or Missoula on the weekend of April 1 and 2, come to Lolo Pass and try the HM kits. There is going to be at least two Pros there along with several other sleds. I understand there's going to be a pretty good party afterwards as well. Come try Shane's stuff and make up your own mind.

Timbre Isn't Being Very Honest

I am happy you had a good experience with HM Turbos. My experience was precisely the opposite. Took him over 3 months to reply to my email. Rarely, if ever, answered the phone. Left messages...no call back, until days or weeks later. Still cannot, in good conscience, recommend HM to anyone!!

Timbre, I have been watching you bad mouth HM for two years and haven't said anything until now. You wanted Shane to give you some of his R&D information. He was more than happy to help you with your questions pertaining to someone else's kit. When you wanted specific information on some of his components (the helix) he wouldn't give it to you until he was sure you were one of his customers. I think he went above and beyond helping you as much as he did. For you to whine and cry for two years because he wouldn't give you information he worked long hours to obtain goes a long way to show just what kind of character you have, or lack in this case. Do everyone a favor and be man enough to stop your sniveling.

Everyone else, I have gotten to know Shane over the past three years and have spent countless hours in his shop. I find it difficult to get time to talk to him myself because he is contantly on the phone helping customers. Some of these customers are people calling for tuning tips on a competitor's kit (just like Timbre). It amazes me that he has the time and energy for everyone and it has been without exception. Don't buy into Timbre's warped distortions of the truth.

TUNING OTHER TURBO KITS

I am happy you had a good experience with HM Turbos. My experience was precisely the opposite. Took him over 3 months to reply to my email. Rarely, if ever, answered the phone. Left messages...no call back, until days or weeks later. Still cannot, in good conscience, recommend HM to anyone!!

When a customer like TIMBRE buys a kit from another manufacturer and calls us at Hm Turbos to help him tune it, I am willing to help anyone in the industry. You had backshift problems and tuning issues. I offered you a custom helix, gearing and other options to help you with your issues. Don't badmouth kit builders when they won't tell you their set ups over the phone without purchasing any parts!! Polaris engineers have great respect for what I do at Hm turbos with a racing background to back it up. Kit builders struggle every day to keep customers happy even if they are not running kits purchased from them. All of our customer at Hm Turbos can't say enough about our products and customer service. So make an effort to come to turbo days and show positive influence on the sport of building boosted sleds.

wow so now i have seen both silber and shane get trash talked by people who expect to be treated like they are royalty and be given stuff for nothing. and both seem to have gone out of their way to help on multiple occasion. people like this are going to ruin it for everybody else. after a while they will just stop doing the little extra things to help that actually they dont need to be doing but do it because they want everybody to enjoy their turbo experience. my hats are off to both of them. i have never dealt with shane but from my time on the forums i wouldnt hesitate doing business with him. i am curious about this special helix though. is it similar to carls turbo helix? i have silbers helix and the possibility of that causing some of my problems has been brought up. can i find out a litte about it without going into specifics i wonder?

I never asked for anything for free.. go back to my lean midrange thread, grn an yell lights maxed out! I did everything that he asked me to do! I am so happy that everybody elses sled runs great with his kit. I have had 2 seasons of misery. Problem after problem. I did.t want to bash Justin, I did it out of frustration. It has never been about money, I would have payed him to continue to help me. Stop bashing me because I said wut I said.

WHOA BUDDY!
ease up. i never mentioned you. somebody needs to take away your keyboard your getting way carried away. maybe you should stick to typing instead of tuning;) all im saying is these 2 have a great reputation for going WAY above and beyond their responsibility as aftermarket suppliers even helping people who dont buy parts from them just to try to make their experience as pleasurable as possible. just because you cant figure it out dont take it out on them is all im saying. mines not perfect yet but i can tell that the concept is solid and i have taken mine to extreme boost levels i just dont have a bottom end yet. i have been sensing in the community lately the reluctance to help certain people. if were not careful the suppliers themselves will adopt this attitude. then nobody will be able to enjoy the greatest feeling in the world
