who's turbo is best?????

These kits all look pretty similar to a guy like me who just sees a turbo that stuffs air down the throat of the engine. What makes these kits different from one another besides customer service? I know BD has their 3d box, but what seperates, or would make one kit run smoother than the other.

What disappointed me the most is that u never returned Dynotech calls, he never dialed in in a Attitude fuel controller before. I drove over a thousand miles and paid for 12 dyno runs. I let u know a week ahead of time. U told me u would be available. U did return my call that day, it would've been nice if could've called Jim before my sled was sitting on the dyno.

First off figuring out which turbo kit is the best, is like walking into the plastic surgeon and trying to figure out which boob job is the best for your wife. There is not a best. They all have their positives and negatives.

As far as jeepins post, Justins customer service has pretty much spoke for itself. He goes way beyond what most people would do. I would like to see some of the other companies step up to the plate like that.

Jeepin.. you drove 6 hours on a kit that probably had not been ran before. If you didnt expect some problems, you shouldnt have a turbo. The Attitude controller is pretty straight forward, if you have a set of instructions, I am sure Jim would have no problems.

You openly admitted it was other problems with the sled not the kit. Then you blame Justin for not answering his phone... nice!!!!!!!!!!! If he sat by his phone all day everyday, kits wouldnt be built, testing wouldnt be done, and he wouldnt have a business.

I am overstepping my boundries by getting into this, but shoot, some people just expect too much. Justin is a good guy, good builder, and stands behind his products. If there is one thing he does that is fantastic, its customer service... I hate to see anything negative posted about that.

It was either Xmas eve or Xmas day last yr that Silber answered some turbo related questions for me. I actually felt a bit guilty after that, you cant get much better customer service then that!

i spent quite a bit of time this year trying to get my fuel controller figured out when i sent it back for a reflash and it got lost by ups. at times i felt like justin was dodging me but i just needed to take a second and realize he is out trying to make the next advancement in the industry for forced induction setups. its hard to understand at times that he has other things to do besides listen to us complain that we dont know how to set our sleds up perfect. he does a great job and still seems like he hasnt goten fed up with people like me who would rather ask questions instead of tinker and possibley mess it up. he gets full marks in my book. even with a 2 month wait for my box. it was taken care of but it wasnt his fault it was lost

silber

Ok... do u really think that I wanted to post up something negative about Silber turbos?

Right now I think your full of ****. If there is ONE thing that really puts Justin Silbernagel above all the rest is his customer support! We have had a lot of work to get the kits to work here in Sweden but he really stood by his product and have helped me to get this kits to run! He is a really great person with a great product!

Ok... do u really think that I wanted to post up something negative about Silber turbos? I could post numerous reasons why, I feel his customer sucks.

Kinda seemed by your first two posts, that you were just waiting for a thread to cry wolf. I think if you keep posting, you will just dig yourself a bigger hole. Cause frankly I am about ready to ask someone to boot your azz.....

I have been dealing with aftermarket companies for 15 years, Justin is easily in my top 5 of customer service.

I agree, in the beginning he had the best customer service ever. He didn't have a flash that would work on my sled untill this year. He gave up on helping me.

We've got 2 boondockers turpro's
We are still trying to dial them in as we don't have much seat time on either one, and mine doesn't have the 3d mapping as of yet. (sending it in tomorrow)
I rode yesterday and it performed flawless.
The biggest asset that I have found about the boondocker system is Justin (aka snowjw) is an expert on this system. Any questions, shoot him an email or pm, and it is answered immediately. I didn't buy either kit from him, in fact I've never even bought as much as a snow shovel from him, yet his info is ready and willing.

Truth is, the more turpro's that hit the snow (be it brand x or brand y) the better off all of us will be. The AC turbo section has a huge userbase and there is a ton of info over there. I'd love to see this Polaris section follow in the same suit.

Ive had great luck with HM. Very easy kit to work with and tune and Shane always picks up when i call. I would recommend his kit to anyone. If ya can I would go ride one of his turbo sleds at his turbo days the first part of April. Show up and demo...cant ask for a better chance to ride a great kit and pick the brain of the guy that built it.

all of this is great advise but unfortunately I will guarantee that you will have some sort of problems with any kit. ......... Here's a test that my uncle taught me light a 100 dollar bill on fire and if you put it out your not ready.

I normally dont like anything you say, but that part about what your uncle said is damn funny....and pretty true.

Im lookin at doing the same. Coming from a boosted yamy i want my reliabile high hp sled just a little lighter. Im not sold on the turboing a 2 stroke yet but it might happen this summer. Ive ran with the Pro turbod from Twisted turbos. It runs well when it runs. breaks the bolt holding the water to air intercooler on tho. Zip ties hold it on very well but not the bolt. Thats about the only problem its had but its a problem just about every ride. Im not a fan of the BD turbos can i tell you why no. Right now im leading towards the Silber kit.

If his customer service is so great, why hasn't he contacted me? Knowing that he has a disgruntled customer, he isn't standing behind his product, I got a attitude box that's probably junk. This doesn't have anything to do with any of your experiences, this wut I experienced and I am sharing it. So go ahead outlaw get me booted

You know what, your right, Justin has horse crap customer service. You win!:face-icon-small-win

Back to the subject at hand....

back on subject enough bashing...
what should someone do for maintenance with a turbo? what should they look over before every ride. what should you do every 500 or 1000 miles. Thanks!

the troubles ive had with mine....Aero kit..

Reeds stock failed at a total of 1600 miles....800 boosted. replace around 1200 is what im gonna do.

Cracked pipe 3 times this season....just got to keep a eye on it I guess.

Fuel filter failed first time at 880 miles and now at 1850...second time caused me to run lean and didnt notice it...burned down the engine....

out of about 1200 miles ive ran this year these are the only problems ive had had....

I check the chain every few rides and make sure the bushings in the primary weights aren't wearing out. thats about all I look at.

I was thinkin about sellin the dragon for a pro but holy crap they are cheap now. Theres a really nice 08 with a PG BD kit for under 9000 in the swap.

Flat out my silber turbo on my 2011 is amazing. Drivability is just as good as stock, just has alot more hp.

And honestly Justin has the best customer service, have you seen his Thread, offering parts for his cost and a full refund if they don't work. Come on no one else can compete with that.

And saying the Silber kit is not as good as the others. Seriously have you seen this kit and what it includes? billet boot is a work of art. Ceramic coated exhaust parts. Polished air box and oil tank. Garrett turbo with upgraded billet wheel and ceramic bearings. And complete 100% bolt on, dont have to modify anything. Thats just a few things to list.

For the price is the best kit you can buy. I wont ever buy from another turbo manufacturer.

Keep up the good work Justin.

Just to be technically correct I think the consensus on what "turbo" is the best is a Garrett, as far as what "kit" is the best, now thats debatable!

Here are the things that I plan to do at the start of every season to keep me going "hopefully" trouble free throughout the season.

1. New Fuel Filter
2. New turbo oil filter
3. New Stock Intake Boots
4. New stock set of reeds
5. New Plugs
6. New Primary Spring
7. And of course all other polaris recommended items.

Some items can wait until they fail, I just don't won't a ride cut short mid season because of one of these items.
