Best year Matryx?

I intentionally bought the 2018 Axys RMK midway thru the generation as they had significant updates/improvements at the time that made them more reliable. It's given me ~6 years of flawless boosted riding! Only wore through one belt in all that time (2000 miles) Feel like I'm ready to move on/up. I spent a couple hours searching and reading, but haven't been able to clearly decipher progress through the Matryx years.

Is the 2024 or 2025 significantly updated compared to the first couple years of Matryx? Most likely looking for an 850 boost. Or would be open to buying a NA sled and boosting myself. TIA!

I have 2 2022 850 Khaos 155s. No issues at all past all the recalls. Once those are completed no worries. The one thing that annoyed me on one was the TSS was always flaky. I installed a TSS bypass on both and now no problems. The 850 is a proven engine and very good. Now from what I gather the 9Rs and boosts the biggest issue is that P22 clutch. The best fix I've seen is to just replace it with a P85. 22 through 24 are basically the same sleds with different color ways. In 25 there were more significant (but really minor) updates to the throttles, running boards and scratchers. My next sled will likely be a holdover 25 unless Polaris drops a golden goose option for snowcheck 26.

I have a 22 850 155 with a SLP 1.5 kit, it runs very well.

9R or boost ‘24+. They have changed a significant amount with the boost since 22. 25s came with some good upgrades and quiet a few changes as well (Facebook groups or this one might have a comprehensive list). The boosts keep getting better and better.

I just purchased a holdover 25 boost. I also have a 22 850 NA still. Comparing the 2 I'd say the 25 fit and finish is much better. The chassis upgrades are noticeable as well but otherwise they are very similar. I will say with the boost in particular I have run into none of the issues the folks who complain about there 2022-24 models do. It is smooth, responsive and powerfull. I'de say 25 is the best year for matryx.

It depends on your willingness to do a little work or if you are just looking to buy and ride. You can turn a 22 into a 25 with just some additional intake and the 25 Polaris tune. I have a 22 with the boondocker breathe-right intake, some additional frogzkinz on the airbox, the 23 Polaris tune and a P-85 clutch. Love it so far, but would like to install the 25 tune.

The wiring updates are the reason I'd go with a '25.
You can get a 25 tune flashed into an older model. The rest of the updates on the 25 don't really move the needle for me. I only care about the reliability updates.

If you can get those updates, save the money and get a hold over.

The Boosts still need some work out of the crate, so you can use the savings to add the final touches.

A clutch kit is a non negotiable.

Next Id solve the intake bog - the stock intakes just aren't enough on the boost in deep snow.

Then, maybe a TRS valve. Everyone says it's incredible but I didn't notice as big of a change as I'd hoped. The clutch kit did WAY more. I ride at 10k+ feet. I've read the valve is more noticeable at lower altitude. If you ride above 10k feet, I'd recommend skipping it and only adding it if you feel something is still missing.

which clutch kit did you go with?

I did the Carl's Tri Roller and would do it again.

I did a lap on the Burandt clutch kit and it was also better than stock. I think I prefer the Carl's kit but it wasn't an apples to apples comparison, so it's difficult to say for sure.

No seat time on the CnS kit unfortunately

Whats the feel difference? Faster spin up on the bottom end?

That's what I focused on, yes. Stock felt gutless. Clutched feels much closer to the Doo bottom end
