Who's to Blame for Revy Avlanche?

WTF

OT, do you wear a life jacket under your CAMO coat?? Your a dumb sh*t.

Why would anyone start this thread ?? :face-icon-small-fro
What a waste of time and talk about starting a conversation that won't help anybody. What are you a Lawyer looking for work??:mmph:

Who's at fault??
Most of us know why avalanches happen and knew that there was avy danger almost everywhere that weekend.

My thoughts and prayers go out to those lost and injured.:amen:

Ted T.

So OT. Based on some of your posts I will ask you this. Suppose I wanted to have my wife in a safe vehicle for her daily driving (for instance a Toyota FJ Crusier) and so she goes out on road with it and it is winter and there are lots of other people out there and she comes upon icy conditions and suppose she is hit by another driver and she is killed and possibly one of my children is with her and killed as well. Who is to blame? The other driver? the manufacturer of her vehicle ? mother nature? Me for allowing her to purchase that vehicle ? Me for allowing her to drive in winter when we all know that ice is possible. Me for allowing her to drive at all? Or is it all her fault?
Does any of this hit a little close to home for you?, do you find any of it incencitive ? maybe you need another does of tough love?

You mock OT for his tactics, and then become a hypocrit... This was beyond wrong, it was plain fking rude.....

I agree OT doesn't have tact at times, but his message it true..... Was it possible to avoide the catastrophy that happened last weekend, we will never know. I suspect it could have been, but that is my opinion.

I find it disgusting to read how many people bash and critisize OT for his comments and opinions, then turn around and partipate right back. How are you any different.

Now flame away.....

Dude, your really ignoranant & im not afraid to discuss it....My wife in her FJ was struck head on during a snow strom by a woman who works for the sheriffs department. The woman was driving a chevy 1500 pickup who wasn't in 4 wheel drive, plus she was also cited for speeding when she struck my wife. Does that explain it IGNORANT......So now explain to me what that has to do with the revy avalanche ?

OT

Although OT is doing just the same thing and is now getting it put right back on him...these posts are definately taking a turn below the belt.

Let's level this out and be adults.

Hindsight is 20/20

Who's to blame? That's simple. Everyone who was there. Poor choices were made that day. It's obvious after the fact. What's more important is that people accept responsibility for there actions. From the post I read of those involved, they do. Having been caught in an avalanche myself, I can assure you everyone there will ride (if they ride again) with much more respect for conditions. One of the biggest lessons learned here is how fast and how far an avalanche can and will travel.
For those who were not there, instead of trying to lay blame, learn from this or use it to teach others.

As I sat back and read the vast majority of the posts in this thread one thing came to mind. ARE SOME OF YOU FOR REAL???? GOOD LORD, if you weren't there, and directly involved... WHY THE HELL DO YOU SPECULATE THAT YOU KNOW WHAT SHOULD OR SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DONE BETTER THAN THE PEOPLE THAT WERE THERE?!?!?!? YOU were NOT there.... you dont know the situation, you dont know the ACTUAL conditions, you CAN NOT gather enough information from what was posted to know that you 100% for sure would have did ANY different that what the people at Turbo Hill would have done.

Everyone always likes to throw around speculations of "WHO WAS AT FAULT" and who is "ACCOUNTABLE" after accidents and tragedies as if by blaming someone you can wave some magic wand and all the sudden everything is better because you have a scape goat to cast the blame upon. Its time to GROW UP people... Seriously, the vast majority of the people involved were ADULTS... Last time I checked THEY were solely responsible for their actions...

Instead of trying to blame someone, and having the holier than thou mentality why not just see this as the tragic accident that it was, learn from it, never forget the fallen and move on. Its easy to say this, that and the other thing should have been done after the fact. Its a whole different thing to have actually done it. People always like to speculate that they would be smart enough not to put themselves in situations like this, but the fact of the matter is you never know when something like this is going to happen with 100% certainty. All you can do is know what to do and react when it does happen.

I applaud those on Turbo Hill for their quick thinking and actions, this could have been much worse than it was.

For what its worth.

While it may seem RUDE to you there are other motives here... 2 years ago my father and I were involved in a Avalanche and this OT AHOLE pretty much told us we caused the death of a man that day... I STILL have not gotten over that tragic day and I DONT need people that sit on a computer all day waiting for the chance to put his two cents in telling me that I CAUSED a death.. was he there NO was he at Revy NO.. he has no right to be making these belidergant comments.. Everyone out there has been affected somehow by an accident.. I do feel "sorry" for OTS loss for no one ever wants to lose a loved one but making everyone else in the world feel bad is not going to bring her back. Like NOTHING I can do will ever bring back Doug. I am sure OT will have a smart a$$ comment to come back with.. thats seriously what this guy lives off of but human nature urged me to stand up for my dad and so I threw myself into this.. As to who should we blame for Revy... I was there, we however were lucky enough to have been busying playing other places and decided not to go to turbo.. we all took the risk that day by riding, no one held a gun to our heads..

For what it's worth, I would say the VAST MAJORITY of people agree with you and are not looking to point fingers. Most people are offended at the few that are seeking to cast blame and have asked them to stop. It is important that we understand what happened so we can prevent future incidents, but casting blame is unnecessary, ill-timed and poor manners. IMO.

Well put and exactly what I have been thinking the whole time. Its easy to see what should have happened after the fact. Its completely different when you there, and in the moment. Every one who was there knows what they did wrong so why try to lay more blame.
