Anyone running one of these at 8,000'+? I bought one about the time I bought the sled and I haven't installed it yet .... Read through the instructions and I guess they want you to run octane booster.

I know it sounds simple, but I kinda do like the idea of just plain old pump gas .... So, if you have one of these, what are your thoughts on it? Are you running it with the stock tuning? If so, do you notice a snappier bottom end? If you're running it with the SLP Stage III tuning, do you have to run race gas with that? What about clutching?

Have one on my 24 boost.
Just flashed in the 25 mapping. Curious to see how that's running.

Run it from 2-10,000 feet. Stock tuning.

I can run straight 91 non eth without major issues. I have found myself mixing a little avgas across the board on boosts as it seems to keep the mild det down and they detune less. This is not specific to the slp head.

So yes you can run normal 91 no issue. No major seat of the pants gain or clutching being underweighted.

Agreed, bone stk 24 boost getting medium det on Chevron 94 oct at 7k’. Started mixing 25% 100LL and det went away.
Now run a tune with 50/50 100LL and no issues.

So, finally got the SLP boost head on and have a few rides on it ... Wound up running some Lucas Oil octane booster to be on the safe side ...

This is with the stock '24 boost tune.

It feels like it improved the mid range a little bit, perhaps a little bit on the top end ... same clutch weight and it seems like I picked up about 400 rpms? So I put some more set screws in the weights and got it back down to around 8400 RPM ...

Over all its a little crisper, but its not like an "OMG WOW HOLY SH*T" difference running it ...

I think I'll probably go ahead and order the SLP tuner and put their boost tune on it, might make it all wake up a little bit more :)

Maybe try to have your dealer put the 25 stock tune on it first as they run so much better on the bottom end.
