Gray/ Timber not a real difference. Re-introducing capital predators to an area that has not had them for 50+ years is a bad idea, the whole ecosystem has adjusted and will be destroyed by said re-introduction. Left unchecked (by us, predators), will hamper the existance of humans. I can't speak for you down south but here in Alaska, we don't herd beef, sheep, etc. We religh on the moose and caribou herds to feed our childeren, wives and elders. Wolves, and bears have been unchecked untill recently and have devistated our herds. I have whitnessed Wolves KILLING caribou just to teach their young to hunt (nothing harvested), that pack is much smaller now...
I have watched bears follow pregnant cows (moose) just to eat the young as it is born... does that fit in with your perfect world? Wolves are nessesary to a healthy way of culling a herd, but left unchecked will starve us out. I ask you folks to educate your self on reality, not propoganda. It was thought at one time that fighting forest fires to the end was best, then not fighting them at all was best....
Those are deffinatly Gray Wolves introduced to your area, You have no idea what they are willing to do to eat. They are masters at what they do and are now in an area where the local game is unawhere, and F&G/DNR has set you all up for a good time. God speed to you all, and your deer and elk, cows, sheep, goats, rabbits, grouse, chickens, turkeys whatever...
