Grey Wolf endangered

Thanks for the info.
That sounds like an awfully big hoop the ranchers have to jump thru while they watch a wolf devour their investment. I think WY has the right Idea.
I love to see wolves in the park, so I guess I could be labeled as a "wolf lover" but, I like eating steak better. Outside the park they should be fair game. Wolves will learn where not to feed.

Nothing wrong with loving something unless it just blind and keeps you from seeing all the other things it effects. I love Grizs and think they bad azz. They are big strong and just impressive. But I don't want them in my back yard if I wanna see one I'll take a trip to Alaska most spots down here in the states large predators like a griz just don't fit, People need to realize that we have effected the ecosystems, we have taken the role of top predator in the food chain from the Bears, cats and wolves. If we want the prey ( deer elk moose) to have a sustaining healthy pop then we need to adjust and manage the predators so that there is a good equalibrum. sp? That is were we have been failing, the predators in the system in Id ( cant speak for WY and MT) are higher than what the prey population can support that is why our herds are disappearing. We have needed to be able to manage predators better so that we can find a balance where the herds stay stable. With the wolves being protected we didn't have the ability in the areas that the wolves were in keep their populations in a healthy level for the ecos. so they really ravaged the elk and deers herds. Its going to take a few years of wolf hunts and some easy winters on the deer and elk to get the levels of pred and prey back to the healthy carrying capacity for our lands in Idaho.

That's right :D Wolves are predators here, and down at the local office there are already a few bounty's to be had :)

im gonna be wearing a wolf jacket come November

Face it people we have already lost! I know Bill Hoppe as a family friend, boss and teacher. My dad worked this area as a warden for over 30 years, and the elk are gone. As for the economy in Gardiner as well as many other cummunities in the wolf infested area, the greenies have already won. We as people are takers, and this is where the whole survival of the fittest comes into play. Either everybody better move back to where the first boats landed centuries ago, or deal with change. As the world works today, there is no place for this out of control wolf issue. Yes, a few wolves for the tofu eaters is fine, in the park. In 2006 I had a Gardiner late hunt tag. I saw over a thousand bulls in shooting distance. Last year it was tough to find a bull that would turn your crank so to speak. There are some cows with very few calves a couple spikes a handful of raghorns and a scarce amount of mature bulls. How many people that traveled to Cooke City this year, were able to see a branch antler bull in the Dome Mountain Ranch hay meadows, 15 or so miles before Gardiner. If you did stop to look at the elk, I bet you noticed the lack of calves. They don't winter somewhere else, they are dead! We all knew this was coming and it is your fault. Correct me if I am wrong Montana resident that give a crap, everybody wants to be a wolf basher, but I never saw any of your faces in Helena. When everyone had the opportunity to let our state goverment know what is going on you were "lazy". I hate to say it boys but this is an ugly monkey on our backs.

Support what is right, we need this season!
