What's the deal with all the Ski-Doos I see on the hill??

Doos are few and far between here, in fact when I see another xp i can't wait to talk to him and see how his has been working out. The main reason here is the dealer wants to sell dirtbikes and 4-wheelers and only does the sleds for something to do during the winter and they really don't know that much about the sleds. They also sell polaris, buddy has a D8 w/ nitrous and ez-ryde he loves it and it goes anywhere the xp goes but he track is terrible on set up snow. He just spins and spins while I just go and go.:beer;:beer;:beer;

I have some buddies that buy their sleds at Fun Center super cheap, and then bring them up here to Felkers to get them set-up. Between them, they have 10 revs! I'll be down soon with my POS if you guys ever get another big dumper:rolleyes:

I don't understand why trinitys sled is a POS, other than the 15 inch track and I welcome you to come ride here we rode on great snow today, and will ride great snow tomorrow because we ride were no one else will go so come on down now. Why wait for a big dumper. We run up the night before we, ride plow out the trailheads so we can park and then its all ours.

Because all the cat and polaris dealers suck around here, ski-doo has sled of the year, and by far the best service. However next year will be a new story, because no body will be able to fix all the broken parts from hitting a pine cone.

If doo had a structurally sound machine at the current weights, I would say yeah, they are way ahead of the game; but, what good is being light when it means the maching won't hold up?

Maybe I'm just too old and therefore think about these things too much, but if I have to constantly worry about hitting something and knocking out my sled then I won't enjoy it as much.

Well all i can say is i have yet seen an xp "kill" anything. Have ridden with many of them and with many d8 and i own an 08 d7 163. Have 1114 miles on it with no worries. None of them beat the other one by such a big margin that it's worth buyin the one that everyone says beats. I ride my boss xp and do not like the way it handles. Wants to put you flat on the track where my dragon will not do that. You need to ride them then make you choice. I love the way you can just lean a lil and make the d7 go there. I cant decide what to buy next year. They are all so close. Good luck! 10 to 11 grand is alot of money...........

hit the nail on the head

Get outa the hill's and head for the mountains, that's where all the Poo's hang out! :D

I couldn't have said it any better MAG!!! I have seen more doo's pulled out of the mountains for motor trouble or just out of fuel than any other sled up there. Last year I pulled two doo's out that had run out of gas with them both tied to the back of my poo 900 at the same time:face-icon-small-ton. And i didnt run out on the DREADED 900. Didnt get any pictures because I didn't have my camera but I do have witnesses.

Just remember in the end if it will get up on the snow and take you where u wanna go. NOTHIN WRONG WITH THAT!!!!!!!!

I hear what you're saying.. well, for the most part anyway... they are all good... and with Poo constantly raising the bar and marching ahead with innovative ideas like they have in the past, who knows where we'll be in 10 years..

Exactly what innovations has Polaris contributed to the snowmobile industry?

Notice you don't hear much about Yamaha in the deep? Especially a stock Nytro mtx. Got a buddy that has one to be different from the rest of us Doo guys. 7 doos to 1 yammie, he could only climb with us sidehilling the mound and stuck in the deep constantly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder yammies are always and I mean always modded!!!!!!!!!!!!

When all your doo's break down or wear out that old Nitro will still be plugin along.. that is if he isn't permanently stuck in the snow bank.

Yeah, but the problem is its already munched in less than 500 miles. Last weekend he was following me through the trees and a stump I floated over with my light doo, he hit with the ski which in turn busted the spindle, shoved the left side back 3 inches and put a kink in the tunnel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Besides munching his new Gen 2 Simmons ski (trying to keep the front end up). Them things are just too dang heavy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The engine might be running but how rideable will it be in another 2 years?

that's just a matter of sales!!!!!!!!!!!!! doo sells as many sleds as all other brands put together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so it would make sense that you would see more getting pulled out, simply because there ARE more out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i guess some people just like working on there sleds and spending a fourtune on new parts. o yeah and horse power aint for everyone right skidoo guys:face-icon-small-win...............poo rule the mountain any day

says the guy with the 2000 700 the only thing that things beatin is the fans:D

I would say skidoo has more sales because they are more "cutting edge" than the rest of the compitition. all the other brands are just trying to catch up but i guess it was the same way with polaris till skidoo came up with the revs.

This is simply not true . . . and why us doo guys get such a bad rep. Doo some research before posting BS claims like this.

2008 Worldwide market share:

Doo - 32%
Poo - 28.5%
Yammi - 21%
Cat - 18.5%
