What's the deal with all the Ski-Doos I see on the hill??

whoooo there guys i see alot of guys gettin angry over this thread. i would say if some people say that skidoo are peices of s t then that is just there personal preferance there is alot of unneaded tension here. i mean you can take any sled and put 10 grand into and make it a beast so it dont really matter what brand you have just what you do to it after you buy it.

Everywhere you look, there's a ski-doo. I'll bet 70-80% of the sleds on the hill are black, yellow, or blue. I know ski-doo makes a good sled, but I was under the impression that ever since Poo came out with the Dragon that they had re-taken the #1 spot?? What's the deal?
....lot of new guys buying their first sled......

. . .And don't know any better, lol. They still believe the hype of being Blair Morgan who is out of it.

rode against a D8 155 with my XP 146 in 3' of fresh.D8 tried twice on same hill
and didn't make it.I floated by with skis in the air,nice!!:D:D:beer;

Rode with a group recently........

Most were Dooo by a bunch........Two blew engines and on a recoil. When gone to get parts , one bought a M-8 like the one that kicked all their butts. None of the XPs or XRS's could touch the M's in the deeper hill climbs. Times are changing. Next season will bring a couple more converts. So says the other two Doo boys.

Are you riding in 6" or 8" of fresh snow? Were we live The M's stay home on a deep day. I have both Cat's and Doo's, sorry man, no contest! Done tones of riding on both.

Hey, I have nearly both those sleds , I have to say the dragon would kill a 146 xp . My xp dosn't float it tends to trench out and
the ski's are pointing to the moon .
Not saying my dragon floats it just goes through it better.

So what you're saying is that if i put 10 grand into an XP, it will perform the same as a Nytro or Apex that I put 10 grand into??
We know what they're doing to the Yamahas where should I put my money into a doo to make it a beast...??

Guys like the light weight, you know that ski-doo has the best power to weight ratio. I am a polaris rider and always have been but i think i like the Ski-doo summit x 163, i wish i could afford one.

For what it is worth...

Every sled has thier issues... as a matter of fact they are all junk and will let you down at one time or another. Why do you see more doos on the hill? It is because they sold more of them then the other manufacturers. Why do people defend thier purchase? Because even if they feel they made a mistake, they do not want to admit it, especially if they are trying to resell it. In my personal experience, I am riding a Cat because the local dealer pissed me off, and I'm glad he did - my M1000 has treated me very well, as has my wife's M8. I'll also be the first person to say that if you can find a good servicing dealer buy the machine from there. I actually just buy from a dealer who can provide me with a decent deal on parts after the sale, because there isn't one in my area who can set up a sled or service it worth a chit... If there isn't a decent dealer in your area, buy a shop manual, and purchase the sled where you can get a decent deal on both the sled and after sale parts - at least it takes away from the sting of spending $12 - $15K and getting a sled that simply had the skis bolted on it, with no attention to details...
