What is with all the non XP riders??

how do you know so much about a sled you dont ride? as for your perfect yammie, what a laugh,of all the once ive seen, they always have the hoods up checking stuff, two i ride with had tps sensors go, then run like a bag, check oil lines, may leak and burn up,they always have a code flashing, there hand warmers sucked, sterring flops around like a 10year old sled in one season, sliders burnt off so fast that they added extra wheels, and yes there heavy, so dont give me this crap on how there so great,if there so great why do you have to spend $10000 to make them go, and that doesnt make them light yet, high hp turboed! yes, reliable some what! stock they sucked, thats why there all turboed,as for tin can, compared to what, a sled made of steel, 16lb drop brackets? theres this stuff out there called aluminum! its light, maybe yamaha should invest in some!
Hello johnny didnt the same day your handwarmers wires broke and a belt was starting to come apart!!! sure looked like the fat little turbo apex was keeping up to you in the trees

Ive personally never rode the XP but rode with one yesterday in the snowies. And all i have to say i was going to buy one untill yesterday. The RT1000 still out shines any 800s. Maybe when they stuff the 1000 in the XP chassis ill sell mine.

I have read several of your posts . Your opinion seems to change alot or is at least vague .
If you feel as you say about your Yamaha ? Why buy somthing else ? Why not a nytro if its just for new or a second sled ?
Why would you throw away 10000 + on a pile of junk ? Why be cheap now with a 10.00 bet on your doo against the poo ? Are they just a slightly heavier pile of junk ?

No sled is perfect but they all make a Great SLED .

I would put the 10 bucks up against the XP and the Poo. I think the XP will beat the Dragon fair and square. The Dragon 700 could not even come close to my XP the first day i had it out. I was highmarking two Dragons and the engine was not even broken in. I have never seen a 800 Poo go yet but my money is on the XP. I have never once said the XP did not work well. I own a XP for one simple reason. My wife rides it !

Everyone says there is no such thing as a perfect sled out of the box. I think the Yamaha's are the closest thing to it. How can you beat ultimate reliability and a engine that runs flawless out of the box. Weight ? Weight is all in the mind. Sure when your stuck, everything is heavy even the all mighty XP. You always need friends to help out unless your on a steeper grade. I'm just tired of all the riff raff talking crap about possibly one of the best sleds made because it has a weight issue. If some of the chit talkers would actually spend some time on one they might just realize they are a lot easier to ride than you think.

Why do i not like the XP. For one thing Doo made all these promises this year (Doo Reps) that we would not see some of the issues we are having. Maybe its just me, i am so used to turning the key and riding. My Apex has been truley perfect since i bought it 3 season ago ! It is so disheartening to spend 14,000 CDN and sit at home trying to figure out where they went wrong and spend my time and effort fixing the "best stock sled ever". Here is what i see:

2006 Yamaha Apex 4000km (700km at MCX 260HP)
Handwarmers did'nt work like the previous Yamaha's. (They did work though)

VS.

2008 Ski-Doo XP 400-500km
Secondary adjuster junk
Not enough adjustment on the secondary (had to machine the clutch)
hot clutches (had to add weight and regear)
handwarmers quit in 5 mins
Fuel gauge does not work
Instrument cluster not consistent
No grease zerks on upper rear susp cross sheaves
flat rear shock
belt eater
Lousy dealer and BRP customer support

I'll put another 10 bucks on Yamaha guys not even coming close to this list on say the new Nytro. In my eyes i would say the Apex is a better stock sled out of the box. Sure the XP climbs pretty good, but a far far cry from being "the best stock sled" ! You guys just better pray those engines hold together because your already hearing about engines going down at certain dealers ! Take it for what its worth, i can sit back and call my fuggin sled whatever i want !

you guys need to get your wives off this forum

What really makes me laugh is how a guy can post a statement that his XP is the most fun sled he has ever owned and another guy will try to bash him for saying that. I don't understand the logic behind bashing something or someone based on an opinion.

Us doo guys are just as bad though, Summitboy says that his XP is a pile and everyone is ready to throw him in the dead hog pile, who cares. I like mine, he hates his, who is the better person?:o

I have an XP and love it and it IS the most fun sled I have ever owned as well but that doesn't mean that it will be the most fun for everyone. My boss has a 146 and he preferred his 05 144 over the XP, I don't sit there and tell him how dumb he is for thinking that.

The XP is stronger than the rev and will take a hit better but it will fold like a lawn chair if hit in the right area, all sleds will. Gear it down and throw a bunch of pin weight at it and the belt issue will be resolved, especially on the 146. The handwarmer issue was a PITA but there is a TSB and it is in the past.

I weigh 150lbs and after riding with a friend who has an Apex yesterday in the deep powder I am further way than I was before to even considering one(I wan't close before)!Yes it goes pretty good but he is a big guy and the sled is a handfull period.Deep snow in trees and gullies is no place for an Apex with a guy under 220 and he better have friends!......I got my XP unstuck myself 3 times yesterday, yammi's have there place but not with me,sorry.

ok, i dont think anyone questioned 4 stroke reliability? yes we all know there great for that, when i went stock for stock against a apex 3 weeks ago, i killed it, raced on the lake, in the trees boondocking, every where, is it a pos? no. just didnt do what the xp could do. do i want one? no. nytro, maybe, but not stock, turbo yes. as for track poucher pinto nytro? comparing a $30000 apex to my $14000 xp? ya it better beat it, and who was stuck more that day?

You DOUCHIES ever think for a minute that Summitboy posted what he did because he has one as well as a very NICE boosted tub.

LMPhAO!!!!

Ever think posers like yourself should not post in sled realted topics??? Do you even own a sled?….whay spend so much time bashing the XP? Why not log off for a few minutes and get a life loser…

You clowns have got to be kidding me. The XP is junk, although it works pretty god damn good out of the box, it has some serious issues in the stock config (especially MOUNTAIN RIDING). You Doo guys can sit around and pat each other on the back all you want, but we and I know it has a little ways to go !

No chit, Mr. scientist…..all Revs have issues out of the box, a little clutching and gearing……and now you have the lightest sled on the planet with tons of power….anyone who compares a boosted yami to a rev is gay, gay as hell. I for one do not enjoy watching the yami turbos rocket up tower mtn over and over, I do enjoy watching those things get stuck when the real snow is….follow me in the trees with that tank, I dare you

lmao DJ!

Now here is a guy whom can take it... and dish it!

Dude, you called me out on a chargers/donkeys game a few weeks ago…….i won I still have no bottle at my house…do I really care?…not really….but it just specks volumes for what type of your you are…..glad I don’t ride with you, my fellow riding buddies will do almost anything for me, as I would do the same

Would someone please for the love of god, ban this tard for good…..no one wants to read anything you have to say….just ask your family

Closing argument: My XP 163 now has 250 miles, and I would not trade it for any sled made, boosted or not, and yes, I can buy any sled I want…..i choose to ride a sled that fits my riding style, super light with enough power to get to the places I wish to ride

you forgot something, aparently were all jealous of them to! lol, thats why skidoo out sells them all combined! (world wide) 400km, 4 belts, an loving my new ride, best deep snow sled ive ever owned.( belts all warrantied, an they will fix the problem) i have faith!

I cannot believe you have gone through 4 belts in 400 km. You might want to do some clutching of some sort. Even the best XP guy in our group has not gone through that many belts that quick. I'm sure he is twice the rider you are as well ! Riding around K-town should not be that hard on belts.

Try some weight, regear, and maybe machine the secondary. Proper belt deflection is paramount on that machine. Parts for mine are back ordered, i guess the XP will just stay in the trailer unless they show. God i love this "best stock sled ever" ! Can't wait to buy another one !

re weighted vented re geared blah blah blah! been there, done that. just waiting for the real fix. maybe itll be here in 09! lol, heard k-town suck right now,(no snow) been riding north! whos your dealer? ithought i was the only one having problems? lol,

I tore it down and a local machine shop did the machining for 15 bucks. Some old guy did it, he said he used to sled but had to give it up because his Arctic Cats kept eating belts ! LMAO
