WHat if we lost all of our vendors on these forums

I guess im sorry i started this thread now. Sorry Kelsey next time we ride Paris together i'll bring the beer for the parking lot after the ride. I will have my own thread with you piston kit and head on my 2011 pro with my 2013 silber kit, I am confident it will rock. As for the rest of this thread its failing fast. To all that had positive input thank you, as for the rest of you who can't lay off start your own thread if you have a problem.

I'm not sorry, I'm very glad you did start this thread however, I am truly sorry you were so offended by my post. This thread shows us alot in the sled community. I believe this was more about you and I sticking up for our vendors who we have put our hard earned money and trust into.

Still would like to discuss it with you. I'm still not sure what you were upset about the most (quoting your post before you deleted it and then going to work ??) which is why I tried contacting you. I hit the submit reply button and immediately powered down. I didn't know until I recieved a phone call 10:30 that night that this thread had been started.

The 4-5 year comment I made was geared towards one being able to draw the same conclusions towards a product of the past.
IE: Just because something happened with a product 4-5 years ago, doesn't mean it still happens today. Same analogy with the Weisco piston comment made by RKT about skirts collapsing after only 200 miles that I felt was non-factual, uncalled for and totally unprofessional.

The molecular make-up of the custom built Weisco piston designed exclusively by MTNTK which is used in the fix kit is not even close to being the same as the old, "off the shelf" Weisco pistons of years past. So unless RKT purchased, tested, and had said piston analyzed, how in the world can the 200 mile skirt collapse statement be made factually?

Because I can promise everybody if the Weisco's were collapsing in 200 miles (like RKT stated) in the Polaris 800 CFI-4 or the CFI-2, then there would be huge problems and it would be plastered ALL OVER THIS FORUM and evrybody who frequents the forum would know about it!!! There are hundreds and hundreds of happy people running the fix kit and only one failure I know of.

And to answer your original question....I think we all know that regardless of how much controversy RKT is involved in directly or indirectly, he is never, ever leaving this forum. This much I can promise.

ANYTHING is an opportunity to do the right thing and make a huge PR score. For sure.

BTW, what was the jbusch deal? On SW? Which thread title was that one?

Scott, I purchased a new handlebar set up from RSI for my 09 m1000 at the Denver snowshow in 2011 for the 2012 season. On order to get to fit I had to to purchase all of there stuff, switch relocation kit, throttle kit, grips, heaters, etc, I spent hundreds on this. They shipped some stuff, didn't ship others, promised but never delivered, stopped taking my phone calls, stopped returning my emails, starting lying to me, etc. in order to install the switch relocation kit I had to hack into my wiring harness and there was no instructions regarding which wires went where. I was trying to get those instructions but RSI kept giving me the run around, finally after 6-8 weeks of waiting and waiting I gave up. I was so mad at them that I called them out on a new thread explained my experience and told them to come on the thread and make it right. All I needed from them was the install instructions and a mountain bar, which they promised had already shipped on numerous occasions. They could have come on the thread and apologized, shipped my stuff and I would have been happy. But instead they sent this pm to me

"Since you decided to take your business dealing with SD Powersports Inc, DBA RSI to this public forum in a deragatory and defemaing way we are refunding your money in full and choose not to do business with a person of your nature. A check is in the mail to you and we demand that all communication by you with our company be done through our legal department and not on any public forum or social media network. Our legal department is up to speed on the situation."

Enough time has passed that I don't care any more, ultimately they did return my money and I figured out the install, however in order to get everything to fit and work I have had to replace everything from my brake lever to my switches, throttle, etc. I wouldn't do it again. Cost too much and too much time.

The moderator, who I'm sure received a pm or call from wade, pulled my thread and when I asked for all of the communication between wade, myself, and snowest in the event they tried to sue me, I got nothing. So in my instance the vendor won in this public forum.

Sounds like nobody really knows for sure, except for Wade and that moderator.

That really sucks! I have noticed that some of the moderators on here are biased to certain vendors. This is a public forum, does the first amendment not apply on SW??? There is a lot of b.s. that is said, there is also a ton of great information.

that's true, I sure never knew. I just remembered that I did recieve communication from the moderator, here it is

"I have been informed that your conflict with RSI is moving out of a casual disagreement and into a legal battle.
Because of that I have removed your thread discussing the matter until it has been resolved between you and RSI."

It's not just this forum but the Internet in general has helped IMO weed out some of the snake oil sales. One has to spend time though to read more than one review or make note if one member has a vendetta against a vendor. Smear campaigns are usually easy to see. The sled industry has always been polluted with so called experts, hp claims, clutching claims you name it. For me if a vendor has mostly positive reviews from several members or very FEW negative reviews chances are they are legit.

Exactly.

You look at a guy like Kelsey, and there's tons of us that have used his products with great results & will tell people he makes quality stuff, and if you see one person picking a fight because he doesn't like his wording that is used... it's pretty easy to get past.

True enough.
All of the moderators on SnoWest are enthusiasts & riders just like you.
They have their personal preferences just like you.
There is nothing wrong with being honest about what you like and advocating for what you think is the best.

But if you ever see one of my moderators BAGGING on a particular brand/company that you feel is wholly unjustified, feel free to CONTACT ME directly. Over the years we have had a few bad apples in the Mod team that have been removed.

its not a perfect system.
just the best we have come up with so far. :face-icon-small-hap

I will agree with you that some moderators are biased towards certain vendors. We also have discussions concerning those actions or moderators and as Christopher has said unfortunately they have had to be removed. Even though some of them had alot of useful information.
We are not perfect and we also sometimes screw things up. But usually we do not take drastic action without discussing it and coming to a consensus first.

Regarding the First Amendment. You have the Freedom to say whatever you want in a Public Forum. Whether we like it or not, this is NOT a Public Forum. It is a Private Forum, owned and operated by Harris Publishing. Whether we like it or not we have to abide by their rules. If they feel that there is a liability being brought to them by one of their members actions they can request or mandate that activity be removed from THEIR Forum.

Turbolover or Christopher (as you orginally deleted my thread), I have a question for either of you. Where do you draw the line. I am not trying to pick a fight with anybody here just curious. For example, I noticed that there is another thread regarding a negative experience with PSI. That thread has recieved alot of attention. If the owner of that company called up harris publishing and threatened to sue Harris Publishing and the individual that started the thread what would you do? Would you pull it? If so, then the vendor has all of the control. All it takes is a simple lawsuit threat and everyones voice is silenced. Seems strange to me.

From time to time Harris Publishing will contact me and ask that a specific thread be removed. They own the place and I work for them, so when I get the request, I do as I am asked.

But it is DANG RARE, and has only happened a handful of times in the 4 years I have been here.

Generally that happens after someone has contacted Harris Publishing and they have discussed the contents of the thread, and is most often when one or both of the parties are heading towards legal action and they simply do not want to be part of the coming battle.
