What do you like to see in Sled videos?

There should be plenty of deep powder videos this fall with the winter we just had.

you have no idea what your in for this year... :D just editing some clips yesterday, unbelievable... we found a new canyon this year, Boondocker canyon, 3 miles long of boondocking through waist deep snow with the helmet cam nonstop, intense! you know the canyon too steep in the bottom so you have to sidehill through the trees and bounce from side to side... now if i could just get Dan to get that velvet revolver song i want so badly...

Someone should make an actual sled "movie". Throw a plot and a climax in there, make a story out of a trip.
Yeah we all like to watch sleds rippin it up but even porno movies have a plot. They probably figured out that just showing humping the whole time gets old.

I have to say that this is probably the first time that I'm VERY excited about ALL of the videos coming out. It's gonna be an expensive August........

I'm excited... this year we've got new faces, new chutes, chute taming chicks and TONS OF POW! I got goosebumps RIGHT NOW! :D

Like to see a film of a everyday ride. Have a destination (show it on a map), getting the sleds ready, leaving the parking area. Film the ride to the area and and the obstacles along the way. How and why they choose the path they take. Lots of deep powder and sidehilling. Not a big fan of the point and shoot hill climb vids.

I'm late to this thread but I would like to see more of a story or something instead of just riding.

Think of the market of folks who don't really snowmobile and get them sucked in. The only way to do that and keep their interest is to have at least some sort of story line. Something simple from loading up and going out to heading back down the mountain. More talk or conversation with the folks in the videos.

I have to be honest here, sled movies haven't changed in years and I have a hard time watching them now because they are so predictable in terms of what they are going to do. Look at some of the dirt bike stuff or the ski movie stuff. Those are way more entertaining to a much wider audience.

1974 kitty cat... just kidding, not sure..
One thing I would like to see and it should not be hard to implement and very cheap too.
Is alternative audio tracks, either no audio and raw sound, or alternative music
I'm not of an older generation, but I find the music on 5 out of the 6 DVDs I own to be grating, and sometimes offensive to my ears.

What do you consider a smaller sled?

In our past films Dave Knight on his stock 800 Rev has climbed some of the most amazing mountains. There are many great riders out there on stock powered sleds - these riders depend on their skill and ability to climb the big chutes.

I would also like to see some skilled riders climbing on smaller sleds. I don't want to see 800's, you can see that anyday in the mountains. What about the 500 & 600 class sleds, like the Phazer, M6, RMK 550 and 600, those kind of sleds doing awesome climbs due to the skill of the rider.

Good ideas.

I think definately some very technical riding or climbs on stock sleds, regardless of size.
Show the everyday joe what CAN BE DONE on the same sled they ride.

For the last 2 videos (Danger Zone and Danger Zone 2) we have had 2 complete and seperate movies on the DVD - one being no music - just sled and rider sounds.

We are doing that again this fall with Danger Zone 3 - 2 complete and different movies on the DVD, one being no music - just natural rider and sled sounds. Both are included on the DVD so it is like 2 movies for 1. People get the both of best worlds this way, a film with the music background (sled sounds overlayed) and a film with no music. Both versions are edited differently and the non-music tends to show more of the footage since it doesn't have to match the song.

If it's a mountain film it should carry only mountain sleds. Film in January when there is no base. Sure your climb parts wouldn't be as septacular but it sure would be good to see the best come out instead of a all the johnny racers with their short tracks ripping it up on the hero snow.
