Well since you all say BP for shovel which Back Pack?

I've used a Voile for many years. DON'T buy something small and or plastic. If you have to use it for clearing avy debris that snow is very hard. Its best to have something strong and large.

i have a FLY RACING backcountry bp comes with shovel avy probe camel back handle on the shovel is also a saw has tons of space in it to it was only 130 bucks

OGIO three6

lady has a dakine heli pack, its slightly smaller then the heli pro, but still fits lots of stuff.

as far as shovels the viole' ones are awsome, had mine for 3 years and beat the crap out of it and its fine. best $40 you can spend. i smashed branches of trees and only dented the head a TINY bit, try that with a plastic shovel.

Had a Dakine Heli Pro, great pack. Using an ABS 15L now, also a great pack. And according to OT makes me an avalanche magnet, so I've got that going for me too.

Just bought a Ogio patrol.... Will try it soon enough. Seems really nice and better than my HMK pack that is coming apart.

Big fan of my Ogio Patrol. Nice pockets for all your Avy gear/shovel, hydration pack, extra goggles, vid cam, and six pack of beer maybe? maybe? Shovel location saved my back last year when I flipped into a tree. Kill. Got mine on a hella good deal at Backcountryoutlet.com too, think it was 40% off or something.

I just put this on another thread related to shovel handle loss. Can't loose one with this pack.

I used to have an older Dakine Heli pack but it fell short in many ways, especially size and secure shovel/handle fastening.

This one is new this year, but so far it feels just right. Carries well, secure shovel handle strap that clips through the D-handle, lots of pockets big and small, and the hydration tube runs through an insulated shoulder strap. One of the zipper pulls is even a safety whistle. It is set up to carry both skis and a snowboard so there are a few extra straps for that. I do those things so it's a bonus. Someone who doesn't could simply cut them off.
