With all due respect (which probably doesn't account for much), we as conservatives need to spend some time looking at what we are - the Rebulbican party strayed big time here, sold out to the moderate coalition, and we ended up running the R.I.N.O with nearly expected results.
We were out run, time to re-group and plan a better offense.
Conservative values won here: Obama ran as a tax cutter, McCain is a moderate at best and did not gain his own party's support.
We need to look inside, and do better.

Bingo, MTNDOO, you hit it on the head. Where is Reagan when we need him most? The only problem I have is that the "tax cut's" of Obama are a wolf in sheeps clothing for some.

When they closed the plant down my parents took me out of Catholic school and put me in the local public school.
While in public school I was segregated from the black students in every activity.
That was grade school.
Our home was tagged with spray paint that said WHITE. At the time I did not understand. We stayed out the front of the house cause it was scary from the bullet holes.
So after all that I was sent to the country about 100 miles out of the city.
I just pray my children don't live the childhood I went thru.
That we all come out of this a better person.
I think the first year will spell it out for us.

I agree that 90% of the washington bunch is way off base and doing either their own thing or that which the special interests want them to do for them. It is happening on both sides of the isle. McCain was better than Obama, but he wasn't what we needed either. I think most Americans felt that way too - hence the results. We need a leader and a solid group of representatives of the people to go do their jobs.
It is a wake up call. A very painful one.

There's a difference. Most conservatives want to leave things for the most part the way they are. The wacky left wants to move us towards some dream they have where everyone is Bill Gates, we all live in harmoney, nobody offends each other, a perfect world.
I agree, but the reality is that most politicians are not "wacky left, or wacky right"...the few that are "wacky...either side" dont have the numbers to make the kind of radical changes that people are predicting.
Are there going to be changes? Of course, just not the radical life changing stuff that people are obsessing over.
