Utah Ladies, Who and Where?????

  • Thread starter Thread starter girlpowder
  • Start date Start date
My wife rode for 4 years with me before kids started to pop out. She plans on riding this year and I am possitive she can still out ride Hatchers.

She is also an AZ girl who doesn't mind the cold. But prefers to ride when the sun is shining.

I agree with S.S. there are many other great people to ride with, guy's and gal's who never get on these forums. My 2 buds that I ride 90% of the time with can't even turn on a computer but can ride the hell out of a sled.

I am also looking for Utah Ladies. Preferably between 20-25 single, hot, and if they like to do laundry thats a huge plus!

Where do i find them? :o

Not sure about the laundry part but you could try a singles ward.

church girls? nah, im looking for a good girl!!! hahaha

hey GP, stop by the boondockers booth at the snow show this weekend, im hoping to have Jenn Berg there on saturday, it would be great to introduce you two! Then you could all go biking and sledding and we could capture it all on film!!!

PS Kevco's real name is BIG SAL... short for BIG SALLY!!!

I bet you're stoked to have a home town show with no traveling. I think we'll make it Friday and Sat.;)

Phatty do you crack yourself up like dub? Me too on fri sat. Sorry about last thrs brain fart.

Before any "good" girls sign up to tour with Phatty call me first...

Fear not Kev, I will bring you back a stripper or two from Vegas.

And like BossRev's wife, the strippers will be able to out ride Hatchers (Sally) too. ;)

BIG Sal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know a few ladies in Star Valley that ride :)

Just noticed this thread... nice work on gettin out there and trying to rally the ladies GP!!! YOU ROCK!! I also love the very silly, 'boys will be boy's' comments that took your thread all over the place... silly boys!! Sounds like you all have a fun crew down there... I also love that SH stuck up for ya!!

I'm workin on plans to come down this winter, you keep working on getting local Utah ladies involved... The point here (for you boys to pass along to your wives or GFs who ride) is to get chick representation so that we can get THEIR opinions on gear and mods and all sorts of good stuff!! So that we can have our little corner of the market. Right now there are the women out there who ride but 'they' (coollectively) don't have a loud enough voice to be heard above all you yammering men!! ;) This past year our numbers have SHOT up and more and more women are truely representing. Most of the ones who have sponsors are getting involved and not only riding hard but NETWORKING, and dragging in more and more laides to this sport, or even just dragging them outta the woods and onto a forum out out on rides with OTHER people so that it can be known they ride! (Like GP is tryin to do)

Anyway, GP, rocks, you Utah boys are lucky to have her. GP, you should def link up with Jenn at the snow show. We need more rocking footage of you both!! ;)

Ride on boys, but don't look back cause there might a rippin sled chick right on your arse!! ;)

Have to agree with Skadi, GP did a good job of trying to get more Utah ladies to come out of the woodwork. Her and I plan on hooking up this winter for some powder busting.

With that said, I have to agree with what some of the guys have said, most ladies here in Utah only ride with their hubbies/boyfriends. I know a few ladies from one of the clubs that ride but only with their hubbies. In the 2 years I have lived here I have not came across too many ladies on the hill.

I think the main reason you dont see women (not trying to offend any women here), is that we (men) snowmobile to have our guy time. I cannot ride the same or the same places when my spouse is with me either.

That and many women just are not into it, cant see some of my buddies wives ever getting on one. And just as a background, I have been riding my entire life, had my first Rupp at around 7. And my mom always rode with my dad and I until she hit about 40 and was a very good rider, so not against women riding.

The only time my spouse goes is when we do family trips to the cabin. She went more before we had kids, but she enjoys the cabin where she can go out for a quick ride and get back to a warm fire versus riding all day and coming back to a cold truck. Just my $0.02.

yup, all true... there aren't a TON of women riders who ride hard. BUT, there are WAY more than you think! Just a few eyars ago I jsut rode the super sneaky local backcountry stuff with my buddies. never got out of my local scene. I wasn't doing anything for women in the sport, but i was having fun! Now I've met this whole underground CULTURE of chick riders and i realize that if we come outta the woodwork we might get better representation. it's already come a LONG ways!!

Not saying if you want to keep it as 'guy time' you should quit that and start dragging your wife along. But if she has the passion for it and wants to learn maybe she could get out with some other local ladies and take it at her own pace! The guys I started riding with made me pinkie swear NEVER to get their GFs into riding. AND, for a long time I REFUSED to let one of my BFs, a pro mxer, ride dirt with us CAUSE I didn't want to loose 'my' guy time!!! So I hear that side.... We don't want to ruffle any feathers of already established boundaries!

Speaking for myself here I just want the chicks who want it for themselves to know that there is that 'underground culture' or maybe 'cult'! And if they want to step it up a little, or maybe just out, then we're out here! just raising awarness....

Sounds good to me!! And there are plenty of guys and gals who can ride together, the important part is to match skill level and riding preference. For example, some people like to do drops, or race, or point and shoot, etc. So, even know I am sure Dan Gardiner is a great rider, I wouldnt want to drop cliffs all day or spend my time looking. And I know my wife didnt have fun when I would take her into the nasty stuff and I dont have as much fun when I am not in the nasty stuff. :)

I think rider style and difficulty of the terrain applies to everyone. I tend to plan every ride around who will be joining us. It sucks to be savior boy all day. I also hate sitting around waiting for a buddy to figure out how to get out of a stick on the hill. To be honest, riding with my wife keeps me out of trouble and keeps me moving. When I ride with a group I quickly realize how much I love to keep it moving. GP and I typically ride 50-60 miles a day. I have some buddies I ride with that are complete egomaniacs. Fun to watch but never know who's getting towed out or if we'll make it out. Sorry Skadi:) but I kinda get a kick out the whole pink thing. Makes everybody say "Holy chit that's a girl".
BTW, we never touch a road.

Hey Skadi: when's your sled project going to be done? I got the call yesterday that my 11K crate showed up.:D

CCpowder, you make a good point but IMO maybe the guys should open up their mind a little bit more because there are plenty of ladies that might want to learn and have the desire to excel but the "guys" don't want to take the time. Then there are some that are worried what the rest of the group might think if they bring a "girl" along for the ride. (disclaimer: Sorry if I offend anyone with that statement)

SH - True!! And thats why I tend to not go on group rides and typically ride with my buddy Travis. We get to the parking lot by 8 and back by 12, out of gas and tired. :)

C4F - Your right about being open, but it is everyones right to choose. ;) For example, I love golf and basketball and would love to play on the PGA Tour or in the NBA, but my passion just cant overcome my lack of talent (and that is gender specific BTW). :) Sleadhead made a good point about planning the ride around the group your with. And like him, I get tired of being the Savior too. But I dont ever want to get someone in a position they cant handle, or worse, get them hurt because of it.

I lost a good fiend over this, almost lost him twice once ib AF canyon. After that I had to tell him "this is not the ride for you" he got pissed and thought I had aspirations of being in videos. He got so butt hurt we kinda drifted apart. I feel bad, but not as bad as had I REALLY lost him in AF. CC makes some really valid points (which is odd) but our sport has a very real element of danger we all no the risks. I know Terry can ride and is far from the bottom of the mafia skill list. I sure didnt mean any disrespect to anyone male or female, Ive got 2 daughters I hope my 13 year old sticks with it 15 yr old already bailed on me. I would never let their gender keep them out of ant motor sport. As a matter of fact my 13 yr old scares me just a bit, she seems to like Dans riding style:face-icon-small-dis

Sorry to poach here GP but since were on the subject I think group size needs to be addressed. 6 Tops on a aggressive mountain ride, that maybe 2 too many. Peace GP look for me at the show Id like to meet you.
