Just to let everyone know these seats belonged to me and I am getting them and my nitrous bottles back. This obviously makes me happy and I thanked AJ. I don't appreciate everyone bashing just because I want my stuff back. My friends were just trying to help me out. The reason I said I didn't want to get the police involved was because I believe AJ's story and didn't want to get him into trouble. I have purposely not posted for this very reason. Put yourselves in my shoes, some of you have been, it sucks. My stuff being stolen ruined our whole trip. I would like to thank everyone who helped me get my stuff back, I'm sure this doesn't happen very often. I feel that I handled this as politely as I could. If some of you don't feel the same let the bashing begin. This is the first time I have felt something was important enough to post about hopefully I will never have to again.
i laughed about it all day long. i assume someone was taking a load of junk in for scrape and fell out of the truck. i don't know. it sat in the ditch for a couple of days then i seen a hyway dept picking it up.
ok so tell me what you would do if you found the guy or a friend found the guy who was in possession of what was stolen off your truck. Are you honestly going to tell me you wouldn't pursue a lead that directly stated they had the items that were stolen off your truck. I am sure niether AJ nor his friend had anything to do with the theft.
If thats the case I think you are full of chit and your post directly related to this subject is null and void and you should probably just mind your own business.
As stated AJ has taken care of everything and in my opinion has seems to have done all that he can. If any of you have been following you would know that the person who did find the items is not big into snowmobiling therefore would have no reason to be affiliated to this site....thus no way of contacting him. Being that AJ is the one who sold the seats (unknowing that they were stolen) becomes the point of contact for the means of returning the items.
It's not rocket science, there are steps that I beliieve should have been taken that were not however as I stated before this becomes a learning experience for all....It doesnt take much to start a thread stating that such and such was found, is anyone missing it. I have read many threads saying that something as small as a beacon or a backpack was found.
Don't come to general very often, guess I need to check here more. I received one of the seats. It's going back, as soon as I know where to. I still don't know how I'm supposed to decide who the legitimate owner is. Classic lost and found..."who lost a black billfold full of $100 bills?"...a guy could get hurt in the stampede.
I feel bad about my part in it, and all I did was buy a seat off the swapmeet. I hope the original owners get their stuff back without it all ending up as "evidence".

So I want to know why in the F WYDOT drivers are picking things up they find on the side of the road and then selling the stuff on the internet! Thats bull spit your getting paid as a state flipping employee and have no right to do **** like that. But WTF it's not like WYDOT doesn't waste millions in other places what is two jack offs wasting a few more hours that they were paid to be working!

Which is what they are getting paid for. Maybe they should send you geniuses to a paving school so every time you touch a highway it doesn't turn out twice as bad as when you started.

Just so you know, the "POLICE" snowmobile as well and use Snowest.
paving school thats pretty funny since 95% of the roads that get repaved are done by independent contractors, but i bet you already knew that since you know it takes a couple of hours to put some seats in a vehicle. mabey i need some more of your education on what the state is wasting money on??? do tell...

I'm sure that there are a lot of police officers that are also avid sledders that also use snowest. I have absolutely no problem with that or law enforcement in general. I'm not sure why my post offended you I was just trying to explain myself, not to step on anyone's toes. I would actually like to thank the Laramie sheriffs department for helping me get my stuff back, the officers were great to work with.

Actually no I don't because I own a company and it is infuriating when people waste money by screwing around when they are being paid to work.
And 95% of the roads are great when they get finished. The ones the state crews touch are awful! And you are a big man to call someone out to fight over the internet. Seriously dude grow up. Also I'm pretty sure your supervisor or someone up the ladder at WYDOT would not be extremely pleased to hear of your actions while you were at work! What does putting seats in a truck have to do with anything?

I was not implying that there was a problem, nor did it offend me. I feel that in this situation Law Enforcement should be involved. I was glad to see that they were and the situation was resolved. If the situation hadn't been resolved, you can bet that I would have made sure that Law Enforcement was involved. That is what I was implying.

i say lets nominate the owner for the heel of 2009 snowest award. how do we know that he just didn't lose all this stuff while riding, as albany lodge, as other sledders?
and lets nominate aj for hero of 2009 snowest award due to his honesty and forthright knowledge of all snowest threads pertaining to his region of interest
