twisted vs ovs

So Shain you were so fast to want to campare but you are not so fast to let the results out. Your post it did not go well does not let people know how the day racing the other turbo's went. OVS had two sled's there one being Brad's sled the other was my sled. Impulse had sled's there including Zeb's, Simmons had sleds there including the propane RX1. Obrein customs had his great running Nitro. The biggest thing everyone wants to know is how did you compare to all of those sled's. Your tubo's ran well and Andrews M-1000 ran the best out of all the Twisted sled's there.
But your sled's could not out run any of the sled's listed above including the OVS sled's that you wanted to run against so badly. Next time we race I will give the OVS turbo full throttle and not let the old girl pull tail stands while I almost kinked my neck trying to look back down the hill to see were you went. You and Dustin got a jump on me at the start and the OVS turbo had no problem gathering you up and running away from you and Dustin had no problem leaving you behind either.

Sounds like trash talk to me. In your position I would refrain from posts as such as it's distastful and makes guys like me shopping for a turbo less interested in Pure Logic kits. Honestly I give props to a guy willing to run and call out sleds to compare them for the better of all. No need to be unsportsman like. It wasn't like he was saying he was the fastest or best turbo tuner out there? Just wanted friendly competition and got it. If he has to go back to the drawing board to get a little more out of his systems so be it.

I don't think it is distatefull at all, he says right in his post that the twisted sleds ran well, just not quite good enough to beat the ovs sleds. there are 5 pages of posts with people taking shots at brad and ovs saying how they wouldn't or didn't want to race the twisted sleds. Well it happened, and on that day OVS was better and plt just informed everyone on the results

not well all I can say is brad storys 1200 hauls the mail the fastest sled was zebs apex then andrews mtt 1000.

I kinda got from this post that product tester wasn't the fastest. :o He was honest. Does anyone have any video of the day? It sounds like most of the big guns where there.

Im glad I ride Polaris cause you kinda sound like a PRICK!!

I would expect a Turbo 1200 to beat a Turbo 1000. I would just like more comparison on kits that are even. Sounds like alot of people comparing apples to oranges. I would like to know how the OVS kits compared with same boost #'s and pump compared to pump setups rather than pump to race or Apex to M1000? Throwing in you were staring at the others more than riding at 3/4 throttle and still had more left in the kit I think was a little trash talkin'. Whatever, how did the twisted kits compare to a fairly setup OVS kit? I'm personally over the "who has the best performing kit" stage and am more or less looking at a kit that suits what I want from a kit more and consistant performance rather than peak performance tuned by a guru.

Does it really surprise anyone that all the turbo's these days are right with each other?

Travis says his sled beat Andrews m1000, Shain says Andrews m1000 only got beat by an Apex.

Everyone says that the competitions sleds ran good!

Seems to me that as a consumer, you just need to find the company that appeals to your personality and pocket book........and.......offers great service!
Next, spend that money and "just go ride".

Sportsmanship: Means don't make the loser cry in public.
As a rider interested in a turbo with a wife who is a CPA as my only obstacle for now, I say this. A company who markets a performance item, and gets a little fired up and wanting to brag some, is nice to see once in a while. I believe a manufacturer can talk all the doo doo he likes, if he has great customer service. Everyone gets so butt hurt these days! Call me a penis but when my M1000 beats a "91" Phaser, I laugh a little, sorry it is just my nature. If we were all happy nice people that wanted to see the other guy do good.... Well that would just suck! If you aint cheatin' you aint tryin' is my motto. I am still shopping so let the story roll on.

I don't have any dog in this fight but I have been watching this stuff go on for over a year and there has been chit talking from all sides at one point or another. This simply sounds like a case of "be careful what you wish for".

All I know is that right now I am very happy my boosted sled is a yamaha and my n.a sled is a M1000. ;)

I did not see travis race andrew travis would only line up with me 1 time and he did pull me as he should with 200 more cc but he did not pull me more than andrews sled witch I ran 4 or 5 times . dustins nitro ran well he pulled me and travis I did not get to run up the hill with the propane sleds but they looked fast from the bottom I do belive zebs sled (Impluse apex) was the fastest by far . Trav now that you have the badest sled maybe we will see you in the next thunder struck pullin sick chutes I hear they they got room on there team.

I got to tell everyone that was the weirdest day racing I ever had brad wouldnt look at me , travis and gar were to busy with there secrect tunning circle to even wave or say hello I felt like I was in junior high agin I do want to say thanks to the guys that did say hello and were freindly ,paul, Dustin,Verlin, and everyone eles despite of the child games I had a good time .

Sounds like a good time. Some on here remind me of the a$$wads out there that want to take scoring out of sports and give medals to everyone. Were Americans, we like to see winners and losers. If you lose admit it, pick yourself up and come back to run again. Nice to hear some results, keep it friendly but tell it like it is.

Is it your bed time?

Wow - first time I get back on the forum in months and look at all the action I've missed!!! :) Thanks for the heads up Zeb.

From a fairly impartial 3rd party, I'd say all the MTurbo sleds ran very close. I was the one lucky enough to be riding Andrew's TM1000 referenced above and the only sleds I lined up against that I didn't reel in were the Propane Apex and Zeb's monster. Zeb won't come on here singing his sled's praises but big time props to Paul at Impulse for being a stand up guy and building wicked fast sleds. I was within 1ish sled lengths of the Simmons Apex and barely 3 of Zeb's. I pulled Shain, but that was a matter of running 2 lbs more boost. Dustin's Nytro ripped outta the whole (N2O anyone?) and pulled hard but I'd gradually reel him in up the hill. From what I saw of the OVS and Brad's run against the Propane Apex I would say Andrew's M1000 is pretty darn close to matching them at whatever boost levels they were running.

That said, 90% of the time you guys were racing we were off riding the steep and deep and having a riot. The other 10% was fun and all, but man Shain is correct in that there seemed to be all kinds of attitudes flying around. I have a feeling that more and more guys will be purchasing turbos from those individuals who treat them with respect and are willing to lend a helping hand without bias and attitude. That's how our riding crew has grown and with sleds performing as well as they are, I'd take a sled-length loss for that type of relationship any day of the week.

My take on the "scoring":
Impulse Apex by far (Zeb's)
Simmons Apex
TNytro w/N2O (Dustin's) - he won nearly every race I saw but without the initial shot I think the Ms would have just edged it
Twisted M1000 (Andrew's), Brad's & OVS'
Shain's M1000 - running around 2 lbs. less boost than Andrew's

Thanks again Andrew for turning a really crappy day into a great day out with good peeps. You da man!

Competition is good for everyone!

Took the words right out of my mouth! Without a little competition we would have nothing but mediocrity. Keep pushing eachother!:beer;

Just curious,

What happened to the days of competition to see who got the high mark? Are those days just gone because all these turbos are all going over the top? I thought Utah was getting pounded with fresh powder, has anyone compared this or it it just not realistic anymore?

Why didnt every one just run the same boost?? That would be fair no?
And as for the 1200 vs the 1000? I would think the 1200 would win? If anyone up in canada wants to run a shoot out id love to run! Cant make BIS tho. Good to hear the 1000s closing in on the apexs :D:D:D 2stokin for life. Cheers boys:beer;

Wow its amazing how a great day of riding and racing with friends turns into a night mare on snowest. Anyways I now i raced up that hill more than anyone there and brads1200 and travis1200 would alway pull me at the top and beat me, and Zeb and vals apex were stupid fast. I can defently say that andrews sled was fast we was exchanging races sometimes he would catch me and sometimes he wouldnt. But i now it is not as fast as the 1200s they just made to much top end i would smoke them out of the hole and they would catch me and be 3 or 4 sleds length ahead of me every time, same with val and zeb. Dame rev limiter is a killer on top end boys. All in all this thread started out with shane wanting to run ovs it did not matter if it was a 1000 or a 1200 he got his comparision. So lets just all get along its over once again it was fun racing with zeb, nate ,paul, shane, brad, val and travis and the rest of crazy sled head on the hill its always a good time and im sure we will do it again lets ride boys.
