7400 max RPM on '23 Khaos 850

I'm not an aggressive rider by any stretch of the imagination. I've had this sled for over a year and just recently discovered that at WOT I don't get over 7400 RPM. Only "mod" is a can. It's a '23 Khaos 850 165 2.75.

Now.. to be fair, this was at Sonora which is above 8500'. But would I be down 1000 RPM at that elevation? I haven't ridden at a more typical elevation of 7000-7500 since then to see.

The sled has a bit over 400 miles on it. And I run it on 87 octane non-ethanol with the computer set in the 87/ethanol mode.

Thoughts?

Well I bought it at a dealer in Heber Utah... not really a low-elevation area.

Your bill of sale should have what clutching is in it from the factory.

Power valves need recalibrated, Belt deflection (too loose) and throttle linkage adjustment (could be stretched). All things to check.

Take a look at your clutching. Could be wrong weights for the elevation your riding at, broken spring, bad roller in secondary, dirty clutches ect.
