Turbo Advice

I am going to look at an 07 M1000 turbo this weekend. What do I need to know and look at before purchasing? The guy I'm buying from doesn't know anything about it. He bought it from Peak Performance near Denver last year and rode it twice. He said he doesn't need that much power. His only complaint was it bogged down sometimes in deep snow. What would cause this? He mentioned something about the intercooler. Would it and could it need to be removed?

Any advice would be great to keep me from buying a junker.

Thanks,

Mike

sounds like an 08 or older boondocker race gas kit....the exhaust for this kit dumps forward of the track drivers...next to the bulkhead cooler. This bog gets much worse with a CE 2.5 track.....i had this kit last year and altered some things to make it optimal

if you do buy it, remove staight pipe coming off the turbo and get the newer tunnel dump from boondocker or call shain (twisted turbos) and research a list of cost it will take to make this kit more optimal.....most guys like the BD fan that needs to be installed on the intercooler (you will have an interheater without this fan, period!)...most guys remove the intercooler and simply replace it with straight pipe

sidenote - the bog was my biggest problem with this kit.....took a few rides to figure out what was going on:mad:

hatchers

other than the bog did you enjoy the kit? is it worth spending 7-8 grand on used sled with one on it?

wtf??? You're swearing off turbo all together now? There's other ones out there for cheap right now.

Let me know if you need any help with that one in Utah you were looking at.
When we talked today I didn't realize you were talking only 7-8k for Rick's sled, that thing was a ripper for that kind of $$.

C'mon sally, buy a real sled so you can keep up with my wife!!!
