We put the trail in around the hill in the valley, the first poke was still a pretty rocky but after that the rest is money. And it was starting to snow hard as we left the alpine on sunday.

let us know the conditions and how far you can drive, it was supposed to snow and the road was close to being impassable last week end.

And where would this trail start , would have been nice to get up to the top but the burn was ****.

sounds like you haven't been to the torpy much so this might not make much sense, but afer you get up the burn and through the trees, go past the first bowl on the left that you have to drop into to access, then over the ridge, down the drop and you are in the valley. when you cross the bottom of the valley and up to the flat spot go to the far right, through about 300' of trees then you are faced with a straight poke up that takes a few tries if it's all freshie. That's the spot xpo was talking about that has a few rocks, but from there it opens up after one small canyon

Good to hear people are making up the burn in early season..
That quad trail sure works wonders for getting up and over the logs and brush.
Remember in the old days you needed a whole lot of snow to get up.. on the other hand, it isn't any fun going up that icy trail :P
Of course, its worth it if you get up there.
How is the trail to the other torpy at the back? I imagine that would be easy to get into with the snow we have now. Went through there last summer with a quad and cut out some of logs that had fell across so it should be easy to get in..

No I didn't know about that,

Thats too bad about that closure. Really makes you wonder what kind of environmentalist scum they have doing the back room deals to close these areas. Its such a small area when you consider how vast the surrounding mountain ranges are where no one ever rides, I dont see any logic in it. Its not like we really crowding out the caribou on the little slopes we ride on.

With that said, that kind of confused logic does not surprise me. I got in an arguement once with some hiker up in the Sande last summer who claimed that carrying a gun up there is doing me no good to ward off bears. He said I'm better off to keep the gun at home because I would never see a bear in the area. Well yeah, I guess I should have known better. Lol. What a crock. Some people are so ignorant, running around trying to save the world by giving their advice and now trying to close what little riding areas we have.

We should all petition to keep these areas open. It almost seems like someone or some group is petitioning against us. It doesn't even make any sense why they would do it.

Pathetic thats all I can say.

Ahh ic now, i know where that is, i was mistaken and thought he ment there was another way up top around the burn.

Okay who is going to the Torpy this weekend? With all this new snow i suspect it will be a long ride in since the road will be impassable to pickup's now.

i was thinking of going up there saterday , but heard the road and the burn is completey ice the boys from cycle north went up there yesterday so we will see how much snow we get then make up my mind.
