friggin awesome pic! headed up there tomorrow.......and yes taking a snorkel.
rode out of vega today. Pretty good coverage, but brass monkey cold and colder to come for the next 2 days. Wind is moving a lot of the good snow around, depositing it where it wants........If ya think its a rock, it IS!! so dont chance it. Only pic i took, was us freezing at lunch not worth posting. Ride#6 is history. Still is bottomless pow, ave 40-60+"

Yup, we rode out of Bonham on Saturday. Cold, Cold, Cold. COLD!!!!! Lots of wind loading. Found a big stump with the Lil Six. Straight flung me off in one direction while she went another. Slightly bowed right lower a-arm and sore muscles. I got lucky. Deffinitley didn't rank in the top 100 days. The only pic I took was of an XP stuck 5 feet off the trail. But I'm still too cold to post it. Ran into Cooker and his new blue doo up at the trailhead, good to see you! Did you make it all the way to Electric Mountain?
My favorite stash was left alone until today when Powderpatrol and I tore it up. Nada, nobody had been in there all year and it was good. Pics are coming.
We took a break and did a little Avy testing and the danger will be very high on anything steep. All of the new snow has bonded well however the bottom 8to 12 inches is nothing but surface hoar. The block we cut out failed with minimal effort. We were seeing a lot of whoomping in many areas today. With cold weather and more snow predicted throughout the week I don't see the bad layer bonding anytime soon. Be careful, wear a beacon ( practice with it) carry a probe and shovel. BTW I picked up a new Shovel for my pack on Sierra Trading Post. It has a handle that extends to 42 inches and works much better than ones with the shorty handles. Paid 23 bucks for it. Money well spent.

Yeah, that early snowpack sure is screwy this year.
I'm concerned it won't bond, and spring is going to be a disaster.
We've got faces sliding without any encouragement down our way - and they're breaking free at or near the dirt. I think the only thing holding some of this stuff up is that is hasn't seen mid-day sun in 3 weeks.

Hey Powder patrol, ride was good over to Electric should of came with us then you wouldn't of tangled with the stump... We found some really good snow about towards the east.
First day on the new Doo.. this thing is impressive in stock form.. put an HPS can on and that is basically it.. Needs a little clutch work but pretty dang good in stock form. Good to see Mark on one, I am sure his is rippen... Now if we could only get Sam off that dang turbo and on a Doo life would be good.
Let me know when you want to go and we will hook up..
