Great pic's of todays ride, what I can't figure out is where are they taken from (which hillside) and how did you get there this time of year without breaking your sled!!

These pics were taken within 100 yards of the Sp trail. best snow is around Big Creek. We left some of my favorite areas untouched until next ride.

I just figured it out the pictures of hidden valley area are from a plane. Sorry I'm a little slow sometimes. Looks like a great area to ride. I have been riding the Mesa for about 4 years and still have not rode that area, looks like fun.

More Snow This Weekend

:pLooking better as the snow adds up. Can't wait for the week after Christmas. We are doing are annual week up at Ken and Connies place. Would look forward to riding with others

YIKES......maybe we won't go to the cabin this weekend :(

Those pics are decieving.....sure the rocky hills are still thin, but the boondocking is getting good. And with the snow that's supposed to come in Saturday (up to 24 inches forcast by sunday morning alone) it's just getting better. I'm going up both days! Will be riding out of the VC both days. Saturday with my wife - look for a Silver S-10 w/ 1 black 600HO and 1 Red 600HO. If you see us, say hi! :D

I think he means the cabin on Leon Peak. It is going to be a while before I try to get to it. Even with these new storms we need quite a bit more for Leon Peak. You are correct regarding the boondocking though. A lot of areas that are rideable.

hell, with a weather report like that...........looks like the Mesa is a good destination in a couple weeks. ;)

Cedaredge?

Just a quick question. Never ridden in the Grand Mesa area but my brother-in-law just moved to Cedaredge. We are planning on visiting in Feb and bringing the sleds. He is a non-sledder and claims you can ride out of his house at Cedaredge and hook into the trail system to get you to the riding. Just checking to see if this is true or if there would be a better place to stay. About 6 of us planning on making the trip.

I think we were all guilty of having a great ride! Let's do it again soon.
It was awesome to meet so many great people in one ride. And the conditions were excellent for early season.
I can see that I will have to upgrade my sled if I want to hang with you guys!
And Ray was only on his "wife's sled".

Here's what it looked like today....

Today: Broke trail from Bonham to Leon Creek. 12" fresh in Bonham parking lot, up to 30+ in places on the SP. Getting better, one or two more big ones and it'll be set.

Mark, the sled ran great all weekend. Thanks a ton for helping me with the clutching. Was pulling 8350 in the deeeeeeep! The Lil Six is breathing fire.

First tracks up from Bonham
