Best laid plans = bad results!!

Sorry Mark, I'll have to catch you another time! I blew the engine up in my pickup on the way up yesterday!!! Ouch! That is truck number 2 in 2 weeks It's been an expensive season for me. (one blown snowmobile engine too) We pulled over at the Powderhorn parking lot and the snow sure looked good! While waiting for the tow truck my son and I gave serious consideration to dragging a couple of sleds out and tracking up some powder around there! Then we decided we had enough trouble without adding trespassing to the list. Darn tempting though. I hate missing a great powder day!

That's what I get for trying to play hooky!

Sorry for not responding earlier Gents, took the weekend off. Restaurant and Bar are open Weds. thru Sun. for lunch and dinner. No Breakfast. PBRs are only a buck everyday. Stop by you won't be disappointed! Thanks, Mark

how is the snow at TML right now? is there any storms coming?

Mesa is looking perfect right now. Plenty of base with a lot of powder on north slopes and in the trees. We only got about 4" last night but we are getting slammed right now. Check out our webcam, it is a whiteout and has been for an hour or so. Looks like we are going to pick up quite a bit in the next few days.

Mesa picked up another 6-7" today for a total of just under a foot of fresh powder in the last day.

Mesa got about 6" of snow yesterday and overnight. It is snowing like crazy right now, looking to pick up quite a bit more. Huge drawings, silent auctions, and poker run today and tonight. Benefit for the Delta Snokrusers and the Blue Ribbon Coalition. Come on by for the best food and drink on the mountain. $1 PBRs everyday.

Fridges - Yes
Stoves - ?? they can supply a electric skillet if the cabin does not have a stove
Pans - Yes

I was there Monday through Thursday of last week - 3/4-3/7. I will be back several times every year.
Mark and company are great!! Just wished the famous Doug Miller would not have ran into that tree and then we would have stayed for the poker run saturday.

Be careful there might be some stinky horse farmers in the lodge.

storage options

If you are looking for a spot to store your sleds in the area you can rent storage from Auto Storage at the Airport, Inc. in Montrose (about an hour from Mark's). Then you only have to drive in once and fly back and forth. His units are made to hold autos so they are a little roomier than regular storage units. (12 x 23) It might be an option if you are coming back and forth alot.

forecast is dry until Saturday then a couple systems moving through Saturday and Sunday. check opensnow.com/dailysnow/colorado

I also head out there 3 or 4 times a year with a group from Illinois. Have done that for the past 3 years - we love it that much! We almost always drive, it is nice to have a little flexibility in the schedule in case the snow is good or whatever. Usually leave at night and arrive mid day, not that bad at all.

Rode on Sunday and as of then they were pretty good. Had some fresh snow come down fri night and Saturday day to top it off. But weather looks to have been warm and sunny so I am sure it has set up since. Everything is covered. Spring like riding I would guess, maybe someone else out there can chime in with a more updated report for ya. I will say that I wish that I was still there to ride, it was that fun for me.
