This incredible machine does it again!

I'm going to come off as a total dick, but after veiwing that video I am truly underwelmed. Sorry:o maybe it's a point of referrence thing. I'm sure to some that is kick *** stuff on the vid. to me it's slow motion.

I truly do wish you the best. I'm sure the unit is right up some peoples alley and a lot of people have cash and will just want one because it is so unique ant they can easily afford it.
i love all comments! keep em comming and ill keep posting better and bigger videos!

here is a sample!

In my humble opinion I'd say that kit climbs well!!!

Obviously this isn't going to replace a sled.... You guys need to chill.... But it is a seriously kewl Gizmo for some...... That Hill is steep in the video and alot of the more "Hill Climb" Bikes made it look alot harder.... That 450R with Kit just made it look easy..... I'd assume that the friction on that skid on dirt would be insane.....??? I'd need a Skiwheel.....

But thanks to people like this who have vision extreme sports are evolving all the time..... I'd love to ride something like that to work in the winter then take it hill climbing at some dunes in the summer.... I bet it would be a great kit for riding in July and August going from Dirt to Slush to the Snowpack.....

I'd say a Dual Purpose bike with this kit would now be Multi Purpose........ Can you make it floatable so it can go across water??

I'd buy that!!

I think some of your guys seem to be using the snowmobile as the benchmark for this product.

In your thinking
- The kit needs to be at least as good in the snow as a snowmobile, and if it is not then it must not be good.

The kit needs to be thought of as an extension to an already great toy - the off-road motorcycle, with all of the bikes limitiations and possibilities.

THe people offering this product, know it is not the "end all -be all" for fun in the snow. Yep sleds are good!

I can tell you that for midwest riding, with our limited snow and groomed trails, if I had a motocross bike and wanted to take it in the snow, I would buy this kit!

I just wish this kit came out 10 years ago before I had kids (Meaning I had money to buy this kit).

Can you imagine runnign this thing on groomed trails in Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Michigan? It would be huge fun!!

Are the makers stating that this will do as good as a turbo Apex with a 162" track after a four foot snowfall? No they are not saying that.........

Yep, it robs power, yep it adds weight, yep it costs $3k, but for what its limitations are, I would get one in a second for a toy if I could afford it.......

Remind yourself what it is designed for, and within its limitations of design, it seems to be a great product.

If the marketers of this product are ever over in the Minneapolis area doing demos, or whatever, and have one of these along, I would love to take it for a spin!!

Good luck with your efforts.

take care

clutch worries?

i ordered a rekluse auto clutch for my crf450, so when i was taking the clutch cover off, i thought of all the people wondering and saying it would be hard on clutches,,,so i took the covers off and took them out,,,and inspected them, expecting some wear, but i was shocked myself, in fact i ordered all new clutch disks with the rekluse, but when i inspected them and compared them to the new ones, there was no wear! i was well pleased, so now i been riding with this new clutch, and wow what a nice feature, check them out ...
just sharing a lil mor info out there,,, i am glad we live in a world with so many toys!

did i ever mention i have 4 sleds for sale? i have 4 snowcross AC firecat's with bigboar kits in all of them... not much desire to ride sleds anymore.

Mike

ps. i got my 650 husaberg all ready now for my next demo kit, VERY excited about that bike. winter cant come soon enough! but i should have that demo unit in 2-3 weeks!

excited

well im excited now,,, the 2nd kit for my husaberg 650 will be here tomorrow, and i am off to the dunes with both kits for the 4th of july,,, anyone want to ride? call me..drinks are on me! ha ha

must have fun till whitestuff comes!

Quote,"it will go anywhere, anytime"

" this is the machine to have for all seasons". when i see one of these fine rides blaze the monutain in 6 feet of powder i will consider it a snowmachine. riding on hardpacked/frozen snow DOESNOT make a snowmobile. it might be fun to put one of these kits on either my CR500 or my KX500, but i will guarantee you at the dunes either one my bikes with a paddle tire will smoke you anywhere you want to go. and in the powder compared to a decent sled, get real. it would be fun in shallow snow for sure but i dont see extreme performance from these kits Quote "anytime". have a nice day.

Please read the purpose of this kit.

And for your information, there are way more sleds that are trail queens or for other purposes besides the steep and deep.

This kit is to create a unique ride for those who have bikes, and their performance will not match a snowmobile designed for the west, but why cut a product for inovation? have a nice day

I like it, looks like fun, I have heard about other people who have rode them and liked them too. The only problem I see is getting my yz 450 started when its cold outside, It does not like to start very easy in below freezing temps.

There was a couple of these at our sled cabin last spring. They were on a couple of KTMs. I was skeptical at first but there was no way a sled could keep up going through the trees in Spring conditions. Looked like fun and a good way to extend your bike season. Not sure I would ride one in a shale pit or on a logging road just covered in shot rock. But I'm cheap and hate buying parts.

i think this kit would rock on an aprilla. V-twin 4 stroke power with the trakc under it, wow! I love fast woops too, imagine this thing on a whooped out trail fifth gear pinned. Man that'd be too fun!:beer;

looking good

I've got the first production kit to hit the US, only problem is there's no snow yet to test it on. :( For those of you that are curious, reasons I purchased the kit:

Fuel Economy I get close to 40mpg running the bike in the summer. Say the track takes 10 mpg off of that in the winter...I'm still at 30mpg. That's a third the fuel bill of an average sled. $75 for a day in the snow on a sled or $25 for the day on the bike.

Maintenance My bike is a whole lot easier to work on than a snowmobile. Typically cheaper too.

Power/Handling I'd like to see the sled guys effortlessly lean your snowmobile into a corner on the trail or zip through trees that are the width of your handlebars like you were riding single track in the summer! Sure a snowmobile has more power, but it also weighs a lot more too. A 2009 Yamaha Phazer's dry weight is 515 lbs. My bike with the kit is about 300. That's a lot less weight I have to throw around when I'm in the tight stuff. :) Also, according to the Yamaha website, the Phazer is in the 80 HP class, my bike it at about 45 HP. With those numbers the power to weight of the Phazer is around .155 and my bike is around .15 also. So I'm not really loosing anything. This is just a general comparison though, I know there are sleds out there with higher power to weight ratios, and also ones with lower ratios, same goes for bikes. Put the kit on a new WR450 and you have more power, and less weight than my WR400. It's all subjective, but in general, the bike has less power, but it is also much lighter than a snowmobile.

I love my bike I love riding motorcycles, the ergonomics and how they handle. I'm the only guy around this part of the state that is hard core enough to ride his dirt bike all year round. The attached picture is of my tires I ran last winter and would run this year if I hadn't gotten the track.

Can hit the powder My studded tires work great on the packed/semi packed trail as I can run 70 mph with out too much problem, but get in the powder...lets not go there. :p

Transportability Being a college student still, I'm not in a permanent residence. I can transport my bike a whole lot easier than I can a dirt bike AND snowmobile.

Shiftable transmission Last I new you didn't have different gears to choose from on a snowmobile. You want to go fast, you rev the motor. With my bike if I want to cruise 60 mph, I pop it into 5th gear and cruise along. I also have the option to change gearing depending on the riding I want to do. I want to cruise the trails, I put my 15t sprocket on, I want to play off-trail, I put my 14T on and get more torque. Those two features make the power from my single cylinder 400cc bike very usable. I'd like to see some of the sleds do that!

I'll be able to comment further on the above reasons once I get a chance to put some saddle time in, but that's why I personally chose to get the kit. Take it for what it's worth to you.

I can't say too much about the negatives at this point for performance, I'll be able to tell that once I get some snow. Only cons I've run into so far are a couple design features I really don't like from an engineering stand point (I'm studying to be a mechanical engineer) but I'm working with AD Boivin to see what can be done to satisfy my concerns. I'll report in when I get more info.

Just to clarify- those KTM's on the island were Darcy and the guys from Harbor City Diesel- on 2MOTO RadiX systems.

Mechanical Engineering ...

Farce ... look into the complexities of a CVT clutch system ... it's all about multiple gear ratios and can be tuned according to the machine and conditions. It's not a single gear ratio ... quite the opposite. There's also chaincase gearing for even more tuning options. Not a bash, just a correction of mis-information.

To the OP ... being a rider on the street, dirt and snow, I'd like the opportunity to try one out if you're ever in the neighborhood. I won't knock it until I try it ;)
