Do you think the 1994 Assualt weapon ban worked?

Do you think the government should round up all "assualt weapons"?

I can see what your saying ruff, if there are less legal guns there are less guns which can be stolen. However, limiting the people's right to guns just because they are stolen isn't the solution either. If that was the case we should ban computers because they are hacked into and used to hack corporations like sony.

2 guns, though at parents house, one is a .22 rifle the other is a .22 hi standard pistol. Neither are very good, never used the pistol. Grew up shooting when I was younger, still a pretty good shot.

Nothing, except seem to strictly define the term "assault weapon" such that manufacturers could make modifications so that the weapons were no longer considered "assault weapons".

We should probably define exactly what the term means. I don't think "round up" of assault weapons would be possible, so no. But as has been shown, gun buy back programs are pretty successful, though costly.
We probably need to define exactly what the problem is at hand. I think that the problem is people using weapons to commit mass murders in public places and schools. It seems that most of the weapons used in these instances were stolen from family members or other people that had the weapons legally. If limitations were placed for the legal gun owners (smaller clips, and other stuff), then it would be possible to have an impact on the person that is going to steal them as well.
As to the issue of criminals and guns, if you were able to decrease / limit the source of guns to criminals (removing legal path to ownership of guns that they steal) eventually the supply would decrease due to police confiscation and being lost / hid, though it would take a long time. It would also increase the price / cost of the weapons, which would limit the amount of people that would be able to afford it on the black market (maybe also increasing theft). Eventually this would have an impact on the number of guns criminals have.
Maybe the response should be a tax on the weapons and ammo to make them more costly, and to have more severe laws against people whose guns are stolen (negligence would need to be proved) and used to commit murders? I don't know what the answers are to these issues, but it is sad how scared everyone is about the government taking all of their weapons away.
Honestly though, most guns are used in suicides, so I find it odd how much of an issue this is, not to discount how sad and tragic it is.

1) What types of weapons are legal under the 2nd amendment?
2) Do you agree with the (if any) limitations of the 2nd amendment?
3) Why are rocket launchers not allowed, but military type (past and present) semi-automatic rifles are?
4) If you think rocket launchers should be allowed, what about nukes?
Bonus question: You find it funny that people point out (correctly) that making guns illegal would not stop criminals (tend not to be the same group of people doing the mass killings) from using their weapons, yet don't think it is a good idea to legalize marijuana?
