THE Evolution OF Sled Weights-

Thread Rating
5.00 star(s)
Hey girls
Read some of these posts about insane deepness and deep powder,2 strokes wouldnt even be on the mtn. if they didnt have these heavy non deep powder snow, non boondocking yamahas making a track for them. (that being said by an xp rider) Pops loves my apex just a little too much snort for an old man, but he scoots around pretty good on his stock nytro. Dlama every manufacturer is going to have some problems, in my experience yamahas 2s or 4s have alot less than other three (i have owned them all over the years) Stones as far as your last comment grow up and stay in cali

LMAO! I haven't been able to get out of the garage for the last 3 weekends, due to the snow being too deep, and I didn't know anybody with an Apex to break trail for us.

If I was in the area I would be glad to get the trail open for you boys. I dont see what the humor is about shmo the old man would most likely be able to go every place you and your butt buddy stonehands go and he is dam near 70 years old. And yes the old man bought me plenty of sleds over the years, very grateful for that. Thats why when his new xp didnt pan out (5 belts and one driveshaft under 500 miles) I sold that pos and got him a nytro.

Well this seems a little redundant, but I will recap what I considered the "humor".

A) you come into this thread talking up your turbo tampax like it was some sort of gift from the snow gods. Dude, it aint. Buy a Nitro and get with the times. Your shlts already outdated.

B) you start to discredit the whole purpose of this thread. You might recall it was titled "evolution of sled weights", not "my turd apex is setting the bar for the next 4...wait....5 years to come".

C) Next on the agenda you start the tough talk. I mean nothing holds more weight than a guy that can kick some azz from behind a computer screen. I am sure stonehands is hiding in fear over that statment. FYI, stonehands aint no pusherover so you might want to pack a lunch. There is a reason we call him stonehands.

D) you more or less admitted that your "Daddy" bought your sled. That's funny chit right there. I mean classic funny. After all your lip and nonsense talk about your big bad revolutionary turbo apex, it comes down to the fact your dad bought you a sled....haha...read that again...its funny, trust me.

I mean how can you NOT find the humor in all of this. The straw that finally puts it over the top is how you assume that your 70 year old father can ride as well as stonehands or myself. Do you research or base anything on fact, or do you just shoot from the hip like every fuggin time you open you mouth?...hahaha ....You have got to be borderline retarded....hahaha

LOL :D

B. Your right the apex weight kinda went the wrong direction as far as weight is concerned. But fact of the matter is it will go where the others wont any snow conditions, any type of riding.

I hope yor joking about a STOCK Apex being able to go everywhere the other's are going. Thats just funny I don't care who you are!!

A. Just stating the truth about the performance of the apex. Have a nytro also just let the old man ride it cause he hates the xp.

SHMO says: stating the truth about which apex, the stock one? I care to differ on that. I have never seen one that will run with any 700cc plus two stroke.

SHMO says: You obviously BOUGHT your sled. Otherwise, you would know that throwing 9 grand at ANY sled, 2-stroke or 4-stroke will net similiar HP and performance results. It is all about atmospheres and displacement. If you have not seen or heard of a turbo 2-stroke, I know of several in my neighborhood that would hand your tampax deal its azz, even on your best day. A few monster triples I run with come to mind too. In other words, don't compare your highly modified yammihopper to stock sleds. That's just stupid.

C. Pm me Ill be your huckleberry, travel often for work everywhere in the northwest

SHMO says: I'll PM you my address immediately. Please drop off a large pepporoni pizza and that Western red cedar I ordered from Bear creek lumber supply. I'm hungry, and I need to finish siding my new house, Bring some nails too.

D. Daddy hasnt bought me a sled in 15 years he just got me started snowmobiling.

SHMO says: funny, you act like you haven't grown up one day since then. Maybe your Dad should get you started on "acting your age".

If your on a pol 900 hes got a good chance.

SHMO says: I don't ride a Polaris 900. I am currenty campaigning a mod kingcat on nitrous. Tell your Dad; I would be happy to take his social security check if he is willing to place a wager on a throw down.

Sincerely,
SHMO

By any chance were you riding up in the snowies around the middle of january? We had a rental apex 162 stuck in back in the trees,

this was from another thread I guess not everyones Tampex was blessed by the sled gods.

Gotta be careful assuming old guys can't ride.
I was back in the mountains and was watching a rev go basically anywhere any other sled could go that day, nice carving good riding good jumps. Guy was by himself so stopped to say hi. He was 63 man I hope I can ride like that when I'm 63. It was Turbo Tims Dad rode with him for a couple of hours nice guy.

Don't assume just cause there older than you they can't ride.

Funny stuff with Apex boy getting beat about the head and shoulders.... but Let's get this thread back on track.

OT, did you weigh the Challenger lite and Powder Max? I figured 2-4 pounds difference but haven't seen any on a scale. Guessing mine 163 X is around 520 full of fuel, fluids, etc. since it's got a can and some extra stuff removed but has the Powder max....

T/A- have you weighed anymore sleds, like a Nytro for example?

Hmmm.....interesting. I have to add that riding styles mean alot. If you ride a lead sled like a light one you get stuck. Not rocket science but it seems some here have missed that point.

You ride a heavy sled like it is heavy and go where the others can. I take my 99 ZRT 800 (with 900 jugs) right along with our 99 RMK 700 (under 2k miles its not wore out). Please note ZRT 800 560lbs dry. And I would be truly impressed if you can follow my brother on his RX1. But I can understand if you have never perfected riding heavy sleds you might think that it can't be done. Personally I get this, as I get stuck more often on the RMK than the ZRT, and I am talking Colorado powder. And before somebody says it, no I am not new. Been riding for decades.

Would I like my sled to be lighter? Of course! But not at the expense of the 900 triple. Too each his own!

T/A did you ever update your weight table with some more sleds from this year?

You need to repost it, and let everyone guess what next year will bring. :)
