THE Evolution OF Sled Weights-

Thread Rating
5.00 star(s)
T/A i really do not like hard compond tracks. The hard compond is to hard for our deep dry snow.... I didn't have a choice however when i got the XP..... Good News, tracks been sold, and i'll have a Powdermax on Monday.

i'll weigh the 2 163 tracks im guessing 50# to 51#.

ot
make sure you post it..they have been saying the powdermax is about 5# heavier

A note to add.
My buddy weighed my 154 X XP. All stock no can. Full of gas, oil, prestone. Ready to ride it was 529lbs.

08 700 Dragon on same scale ready to ride was 600lbs.

05 RMK 900 151 some things taken off and lightweight can was 620lbs.

I found it very interesting that the Dragon was only 20lbs lighter, grant it the 900 has a lightweight can.

A few more details

08 RMK 700 155"(not a dragon) spare belt, all stock 599.4 Lbs

05 Rmk 900 159". Slp air box, radiator removed, CPI silencer, Holz spindles, Slydog skis, spare belt. 620.2 Lbs

08 XP 154" all stock, no spare belt 529.2 Lbs

Think we're gonna need to change you name to Double Threat

Mines about half a ton with me on it ready to ride, but it will destroy any of the above mentioned sleds and any thing they come out with for the next five years...

Yeah well..... I hear Suburbans will destroy a Porche in the crash up derby and probably will for the next 25 years... But who cares the Porche sure is a lot more fun to ride. And at the end of the day it's all about how you like to ride what and where you ride them. I think you post was a bit on the (I wish my sled was that light envy side). But thats just my opinion.

Cheers:beer;:beer;

Not only that, but Apex9420t claimed in another thread that his sled would be untouchable for the next 4 years. Now it's 5 years. The thing keeps getting better with every post.....haha

I agree the Turbo Apex does flat out move...but too much weight for the deep pow and boondoking. I thought about one...but the more I thought about it I just could not handle the weight.

!

IF you want a light sled just go out and by a 96 ultra. I think the ultra is for ultra light and that is why I still ride one.

Yeah well maybe your just too much of a p*ss! like the rest of us light weight sled riders. I heard of this legend about a guy who had this almighty 9420 turbo tampax ( no offense to the cool guys who ride Turbo Apex's and don't say stupid chit on this 4m) but his sled was so badazz that there wasn't a lightweight sled out there and wouldn't be for atleast 4-5 yrs that his 2000lb tampax couldn't destroy. Boy do I feel like a p*ss! too. I wonder if you have to pass a stud test to be able buy one of those futuristic sleds.

What a dumbazz

Boy does the truth hurt. Didnt say their wasnt a light weight sled out there just not one that can compete. Apex is heavy but it doesnt feel heavy in deep with lots of hp. I just dont want to spend $10000 and poorly built lightweight pos everyyear, Id rather have a heavy tank that rides light with double or triple the hp and is RELIABLE.

XP at 529 full of fuel is a good weight. Last time we had sleds that light was back in the 70's. With them you worked on em all week to ride them on Sunday, and still walked home!

I guess everything does go in full circle!
