The end of Chevy trucks????

This has nothing to do with "greenies".

It has to do with DEMAND. The market is not buying as many trucks/suv's, why would you (as a manufacture) continue to produce them at the old rate? The market is calling for more cars, so give them what they want.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you think caused the light truck demand slump. (Answer) The price of fuel. You dont think the greenies had anything to do with that?

It is just a little more complicated than that...

I was going to have a banana with my cereal for breakfast, but a greenie stole it... lol

The big three auto manufacturers knew this day was coming. They are the only ones in the world that produce such a large amount of fuel inefficient vehicles. I mean, even I saw this coming. The reason they kept pushing the truck / suv market is because they make the most off of truck owners. There is much more profit to be made on a truck then there is on a little compact car.

For the $20-30,000 to buy a economy car, I can buy ALOT of fuel for my truck.

You think like I do. I can't get over these people who make knee-jerk reactions thinking their saving money. When they sit down and really figure out what an unnecessary vehicle swap cost them, it'll cover the cost of fuel for as long as they'd own the vehicle (extreme example).

It's really rather strange how people can jump ship right away because of a upward rise in fuel prices.

How many folks were living that close to the edge and couldn't weather the bit of fuel price increase. Wow!

The Hummer should have never made it to the streets anyways, good riddance.

Gottalove ruffyryder... does the most *****in and complaining and is in every post showing everybody his vast knowledge. You know just enough about everything to be dangerous, you just stop at the wrong place.... right before you get the truth.

Liberal democrats, killing one baby at a time whether you like it or not.

I'm on the supply/demand bandwagon. Enviro groups dont have near the power of the oil industry.

I'd argue that one.. only as an opinion. There's a reason we ain't drilling in our backyard and it's not because the greenies are weaker than the oil industry.

ha ha ha, I love you too. So which baby do I get to kill today? Everyone loves to blame the greenies... it is so easy to do. I just think that Americans have been very wasteful in their energy use and it is coming back to bite us.

So instead of slandering me, how about you engage me in a factual discussion? I guess it is just easier your way....

Bring on the tyranny of the ill-informed majority.

Good point... someday we all may be riding on the same piece of real estate, that we choose to guard at gun point to keep open, so it should be a civil place. Politics and racing can sure bring out the passion in us.

Fascinating. It's finally dawned on people you don't need an H2 to drive around town and go get groceries in or a 1-ton diesel to pull a jet-ski to the lake.

America, you're movin' up!

:D

I drive a diesel 1 ton crew cab GM because I have a family and a fifth wheel. Granted I don't haul my fifth wheel everday but what the heck am I supposed to do when I need to haul it. Do we think for one minute that people are going to stop camping and pulling rigs and boats and the like. The fuel crap makes me sick. For general joe driver, the increase in gas prices is a 1000 to 1500 bucks a year more to drive what you already own. For that we're all dumping our lifestyles?? I'll buy my wife a nice smaller car when her mini van dies but I'm always going to need a truck. BTW, I am a commercial fleet and lease guy for a GM dealer. Where I live, loggers, miners, pipeliners etc. won't be driving to work in a POS Prius anytime soon. Not to mention what are all of those greenies going to do with their old hybrid batteries when they start to fail? Can you say "toxic waste". This new technology just creates new problems. It doesn't solve the old ones.

No worse than paying insurance !

Yeah I could see driving an electric car or some other roller skate to work but when you live in a town where it snows for 6 months some years and the street dept. has a "let it melt" policy, I would probably miss a lot of work, wait a minute ! I might be on to something here, great excuse to stay home and go sledding, but how would I pay for the roller skate ? I guess I figure driving a full-size suv (Tahoe) is no different than paying health or life insurance, if you don't believe that go to wreckedexotics.com and look at some of the foreign cars squashed between semi's.
