The 2013s!!! What's stopping you from buying?

Nothing is stopping me. Looking forward to my first snowcheck ever in a few weeks. I sat on the cash I had last fall and kept stacking it so I could buy the sled I really wanted in 2013.

Prices suck, but WTF you gonna do. They got us by the nuts and I got mad pow disease. With the powder mainline we been getting in the Northwest the past few weeks, all rationality has gone out the window. Whatever is gonna give me the next dose of neck deep choking pow, I'll pay it.

PJ, throw the same tires on your truck as all the manufacturers put on new trucks and you'd be stuck just the same. Mine sucks in the snow with the stock tires, next winter it will get some real truck tires.

My 35s cost $120 each and are by far the BEST tire I have ever ran. And I have run some of those expensive things that Tog is running. I have run the TWs in deep snow, packed snow and ice. They hold awesome.

Hey, they work. And they wear better and perform better than the $400/tire ProComps I had. I have hauled heavy loads with them, I have went off roading with them and driven down clay soaked roads and never broke loose. I also run them them at high speeds, just for fun and no problems. So if you wanna drop $2000 for tires that's your choice, don't bash on me because I saved cash and got something that performs just as well and I'm out $500.

I don't pay for tires, my best friend owns 3 tire shops. I demo alot of tires.

But I wouldn't risk a retread coming apart and trashing my truck to save a few bucks.

>I can honestly tell you, for me it's those stupid high prices!!!!

That, coupled with the fact that it can only be used a few months out of the year is why I still ride a modded 96' model sled. It takes my anywhere I want to go and its cheap to maintain.

I've also had a lot of fun modding it over the past 15 years as well; it's truly "my" sled.

2013 Summit Sport 800 154" for $8,999 before incentives.

That's stupid cheap for what you are getting.
I jumped on it right away in fear that it (price) would go up.

It is that hope and change thing silly people elected three years ago AND local/state blood suckers thinking they need more and more $$$... just wait it is going to get crazy in 2013-14 with Obamacare :usa2: but to answer the question, "Why are you not buying a 2013"... because I bought a 2012

Ron Paul 2012. Fights the regulations, and fights the inflation tax, and all taxes for that matter.

Lucky you. Most other truck owners have to pay $300-400 a tire. If I got free tires I'd run some real nice Mickey Thompsons

I don't like my nuts vibrating when I drive. Plus I drive 50-60,000 miles a year, so the Nitto's are a good aggresive road tire that don't make noise or vibrate.

Why the Hell not? That's half the fun of driving

I bought a new sled about every year through 2005, and finally said enough when the price got over $7,000 bux. These are relatively unreliable go cart engines with a hunk of aluminum around them. I can buy a car for $10K with dual airbags, abs, and air conditioning.

So, I voted with my wallet, and said enough. I now enjoy sledding virtually for free. My '05 800 runs great, is super comfortable, climbs any hill that I want, and costs almost nothing to own.

I would rather own a $3,000 dirt bike, $3,000 jet ski, and a $3,000 sled, than one $9,000 sled. It's all personal preference.

I can honestly tell you, for me it's those stupid high prices!!!!

$13.5K avg, FOR A STOCKER??!! And honestly not that much stuff to change the game. I mean it's stuff we already do to our sleds and IMO it's cheaper for us to do it on our own since we aren't paying for factory R&D.

.....................................................

That's what is stopping me. I think that the MSRP of these sleds is stupid high and the factory/sled industry is doing nothing but cutting it's own throat.

Not trying to be an A-hole here but I can honestly not understand why you, (you as in everyone living in north America), whine and bitch this much about sled prices... A stock top of the line mountain sled of any brand here in Scandinavia is like 22-24000 USD, more in Norway, and we don't make any more money than you guys do, (perhaps except for the Norwegians). So tell me why 13000USD is so ridiculous, seems like a dream come true for me.... I'd probably have two sleds with prices like that.

Just my reaction

How many hours do you guys work during a week? How much vacation do you guys get a year?

wow im glad i seen this post... the guard dogs are the same as my goodyear wrangler mtr's.. the originals they quit making... by far the greatest mud tire ever created, i have 25k on 40's and they still look new, never cupped, **** at 25k my open country mts were way shot, along with cooper stt's, nitto mud graps, and everyother ****ty tire out there.

Not to stay off topic but I run the retreads PJ posted and only have good to say about them as well. I run the BFG AT pattern and they are sweet, and priced very well. I've talked to others with lots of mileage on them (work fleet) and they've never had an issue. The retread process has come a long ways from what most people think of Retreads... And yea, I've gone by lots of stuck trucks in the MC lot too with out issue! The **** some people do there blows my mind...
