A pic from the bottom of the hidden bowl. There were no tracks when we dropped in.

The groomed trail was nice for almost 3 miles until we turned to the left. Nice day of spring snowmobiling.

3-23-12

Good snow on north facing slopes 2in crust on south facing slopes. Good day. There were a lot of people up there and all of the common spots were trashed by 6pm and most of the not so common spots too.

Hey, where's the video you took of the creek jump? And PS; you need to update your sig. (add SLP pipe & can and remove the muff pot) lol

On Sunday. 3-25 the grooming was a lot better than it was on Friday. There wasn't much snow melt either which is good. The north facing slopes snow was still good enough to side hill and do down hill turns and get stuck! Lol I think there Is more snow now than same time last year.

Quick Weekend Update:

Grooming ceased Monday, the 26th. Roads are open to all vehicles this Sunday, 04/01/12.

It has rained (hard at times) pretty much continuously the last 36 hours at sno-park level. The forecast is for another 1" of rain in the next 24 hours below 3800'.

Green Lake has had 15" of new snow in the last 24 hours and is 31.1F at noon.

The lower hills have lots of runoff from rain/melting snow the last 24 hours. The lower elevation DNR roads probably have "cuts" in them from water running across the road, especially below 5K elevation. These can be a hazard, especially down a groomed road at high speed (since they weren't there yesterday type of thing). As of this morning, the paved North Fork Rd was good with no water running over the road until below Tampico.

The weather should cool down on Sunday.

Tamp, I sure hope it's done raining now. Days and days of labor, a fortune in fuel, 50+ ton of gravel, all gone.
I think I have saved enough to get D in here. Once she is home, it can rock I guess.
The love of my life, plenty of Rye and a good humidor. I can rebuild the dam driveway.
Hope all is well up Tampico way. Let me know.

It might be melting down low but with all the snow up high and how it keeps coming I might be riding all the way to september this year. Our annual snowfall is well above normal with over 520 inches at white pass as of this morning. And 124in at green lake is crazy.

Snow! Forecast whiffed!

Snowing lightly this morning at sno-park level. 31F, about 2-3" new at the sno-park.

Should be a good weekend, especially for April.

A lot of snowmelt below 4,000ft today and a couple inches of new above 5,000ft

A little incident. They spent over two hours digging a road out. He went of the side of the road. The road is to the left of the pic.

Wow, what an awesome day today!!! Only got 35 miles but they were well earned. Snow was some of the best I've seen this year and lots of it (at least up high). 80% of the day was on freshies with no tracks.:face-icon-small-ton Very tiring, though.

So that must have been your tracks going in and out of the cabin. We didn't get there until about 3 pm. We rode up from the Rimrock side. It was serious work. Took us until 2 pm just to get to the base of the hill other side of Blue Lake. Apparently no one has been on that trail for a week or two there was probably 3-4 feet of untouched snow on the trail and it was heavy under the fresh on top.
Once we got up to the end of the jeep trail below the cliffs it was incredible. Deepest snow I've been in all year and a lot lighter then just below the trees. Wish I would have had my camera.

It looked like this, totally sick powder...

Oh ya you're in my playground there!
We usually come up Short and Dirty and come in through the bottom of where you are in those pics. We decided to take the long way around, thought it would be easier with the boys. Not sure it worked out that way, it was tough going up through the trees!!

Sweet pics... looks a lot like our day... breaking trail almost everywhere we went and PLENTY of stucks to go around... What an epic day for April 1st... :D:D:D:D:D

Sunday 4-1-12

Here's some late pics from our ride on Sunday... Thanks to Tampico for giving me an invite late Saturday night for some fun Sunday, as usual it was a blast!

Snow was Epic and untouched virtually everywhere we went! The trail in is getting pretty dang bumpy, but above 5500 Ft it was game on:D
